So here we are at another Keweenaw copper mine; this is Painesdale, Michigan in the autumn of 1990.
Back when I was an active rail fan, I'd attend the annual get togethers of the South Shore Special Interest Group of the Soo Line Historical and Technical Society. On this trip I was accompanied by my brother and my sister, though in other years I went alone. Over the course of the weekend we visited several locations in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. I got some good pictures, we heard some interesting talks, and in general had a good time.
And never in my life have I seen such vivid fall colors. Only last autumn's trip to East Jordan rivals it.

This pylon is next to the marina at Seabrook/Kemah, Texas, on Galveston Bay. It is part of the same transmission line shown here: www.flickr.com/photos/101440531@N06/29090748311/in/datepo..., but looking in the other direction. For telegraph tuesdays.
