I must admit, I've never understood this phenomenon. I'm getting old and like to keep my shoes on my feet.
This was taken last Sunday at the same place where I saw all those spiders. It was around sunset time, but due to clouds no sun visible. The color of the sky was like this - it does show a bit stronger on this photo because I gave it a bit more contrast...

Diese 220 kV Leitung Wolkramshausen- Vieselbach wurde erst kurz vor der Wende gebaut, 1988 eingeweiht, und soll nun im neuen BBPIG .(Bundesbedarfsplangesetz) demnächst durch eine nagelneue 380 kV Leitung ersetzt werden (BBPIG Nummer 44), ebenso die Verbindung zwischen Wolkranshausen nach Bad Lauchstädt Bei der neuen Linienführung soll auf jedenfall das Seengebiet um Stotternheim weitgehend umgangen werden.

The one thing that stands out in my mind about my digital camera's instruction manual was "don't shoot into the sun". I don't think a shot like this would be possible without the use of film and a "little magic box".
