The road from Bowmans to Port Wakefield

Powerlines which used to feed the Johannesburg Grid with electricity from the Orlando Power Station. The station used to reduce the peak demand the city council had to purchase from ESKOM - the national power authority. Ironically many of those living near the power station did not have electricity - at least not prior to 1976. That only came later.

In the Dove Springs OHV Area.

An Iron Law of pix: powrlines and telegraph poles are all B&W.

Powerline 48 with TRaino 47 & 42 to try and show the colour differences, bear in mind the 42 is probably Indian Red whereas the 48 & the 49 looks like Venetian/Tuscan

The sun sets over powerlines and a railroad crossing in Park Township in Holland, Michigan.

A large access road through some woods in northern Wisconsin. It was obvious that it was for access to the powerlines.

This fall, every night for about two months a huge flock of birds landed on the power lines running in front of the factories on SR 32 in Union City. They were particularly difficult to photograph, as any car parked under them for more then 10-20 seconds caused the entire flock to take flight. This photo is one out of about 90 that I was able to take as I drove slowly along the shoulder of the road with my emergency blinkers on and my Nikon D5000 poked out the window, taking as many shots as I could before they "noticed" me and took off.

Waited for the sun to set between the 2 rows, but clouds got in the way
