OPPD. Sarpy, County, Nebraska. May, 2012.

A rather large steel pole for a 69KV circuit. This dead end was added when the poles had to be moved to widen the street.

Powerline trail (short cut) to Mt Kathleen, BC.

There was a beautiful sunset on the way home from visiting Strawberry Creek Park. I also liked the juxtaposition of the trees, the power lines, and the construction machine thing.

The definitive word from Madison -

I pass this house when I take regular walks to the Mermaid Cafe. And yes, it can be found on the corner where Main St. meets First Street.

We have had many opportunities to be warned by Orwell's book, 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' (1984). Still the writing on the wall is not heeded.

"Nineteen Eighty-Four, (often published as 1984), is a dystopian novel published in 1949 by English author George Orwell....in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public manipulation. ...

As literary political fiction and dystopian science-fiction, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a classic novel in content, plot and style. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, Room 101, telescreen, 2 + 2 = 5, and memory hole, have entered into common use since its publication in 1949. Nineteen Eighty-Four popularised the adjective Orwellian, which describes official deception, secret surveillance, and manipulation of recorded history by a totalitarian or authoritarian state."

Taken in Monticello, NY with a Canon 55-250mm IS lens. Type L for a better view.

Cleco came down this line and changed a whole bunch of poles last month.

Images from a vacant steel mill.

This is the part of the line that was built last year to go to Abbeville, LA.

I don't know the company but they were in Pensacola

Moments before I took this photo, I saw a fox run across the cut.

I thought these colorful ball reflected in the Snake River to warn planes of the power lines spanning the river canyon would make a nice picture. After walking a few minutes to get to the perfect vantage point it was disturbed by a passing boat..oh well.

There is a big solar power transmission line project from Tonopah, AZ to Blythe, CA and this Bell H500 is helping.

These 500kv lines used to belong to Entergy, but now that Cleco owns the powerplant, they also own a 10 mile section of this 500kv line.

What a mess !

I took a few rather uninspired photos this morning.
