This was the toy that I originally wanted. Of course it would have been great to get a MacBook Pro but they take forever to get through the seeding program. I just want to prove that I can use a Mac for our web development and a laptop is really what I want.

This is my 2002 PowerBook G4 Titanium (Last) with a 15.2" display.

The specifications of the computer itself are the following: 1 GHz G4, 1 GB DDR, 120 GB HDD, 64 MB ATi Mobility Radeon 9000. It's been upgraded with an AirPort, a USB 2.0 PC-card and a bluetooth PC-card to be used in the PC-card slot. Geekbench result: 627.

Notable features at time of release for this model include a widescreen display, a SuperDrive and a DVI port. Other things worth mentioning are that it has a removable keyboard for easy access, a hinged port cover and supports quartz extreme graphics. The body is made of painted titanium.

It runs OS X Leopard. It's currently used only occasionally. The design and form factor is way ahead of its time.

Prototypes are tracked internally at Apple & are destroyed once they have fulfilled their testing purposes, this makes any prototype rare as they have somehow escaped Apples clutches. Originally there probably would have been a few dozen of these made. How many “AJ” Prototypes are left in the world today would be a guess, probably less a half dozen if that. This model was introduced to the public in August 1995.

I'm using Scrivener, a really cool Mac app, to write and organize my book.

comincia a diventare un po' affollato qui. let's go wireless.

Can't remember what app made this...

Nearly every morning, from 9-12, I work on my novel, Murder in Ocean Hall. I'm writing it in Pages on an old 12" G4 PowerBook.

1999. NTT Personal Paldio PHS-321s

My current desktop setup. PC with 19" and 17" (back). Powerbook G4 15" (front). iBook G3 12" (right).

It is very nice... though the iBook will be no more tommorrow. :)

A couple weekends ago my trusty Powerbook (who's been my faithful partner for almost 4 years) popped out of my basket while I was riding my scooter in the Mission and hit a deep pot hole on Valencia Street. I felt a thud on my lower back- it was my bag, having bounced out my basket, hitting me in the back and then plummeting toward the concrete. Plop, plop. Also, my cell phone and a few other small things flew out of my bag (unbeknownst to me,) fortunately a girl on her bike picked them up and brought them to me after I pulled over to retrieve my bag.

The computer still works, no damage to the screen, its just now crumpled on both sides and the screen collapses awkwardly whenever it goes past 90 degrees. Worse, the charger cord doesn't fit well into its socket anymore, and although it is fine when I'm plugged in, it doesn't charge the battery whatsoever so essentially its a brick when its not plugged into a wall. My laptop is now a desktop.

So as I've considered this for a while (even before this tragedy), I'm thinking of getting a new computer. So I'm torn between getting an iMac g5 (desktop, like now) or waiting for the new Macbook (supposedly replacing the ibook, new at 13", who knows when.) I would go for a Macbook Pro, but I'd like to go smaller than 15" this time around.

This pretty much sums up my A/V home/office technology quotient. And what a mess all the cables are too, although frankly I'd rather have cables than even more electrosmog (RF radiation).

Will man sich sowas wirklich antun?

I have hear a Ibook G4, Powermac G4 with 19" screen, Hp printer , wireless keyboard and mouse , ikea poang chair , newmark ipod mixer , netgear wifi router and philips wireless phone.

I think this is pritty good for my age i am 14 and these are 2 of the 4 macs i own.

A macro shot of my PowerBook's keyboard. Just seeing how good the macro function on my new camera is ;)

Die kabel zooi en de andere troep word nog wel eens opgeruimd.

This be the first picture of my brand new 15" Powerbook.

Here is the Powerbook Duo 230, which was the only one of the three that we were able to power on to a working operating system.

Tech Note: The chrome colour settings on the S5700 - combined with an exposure time of 3 seconds and fluorescent white balance settings - helped to achieve the red glow. All I did in Photoshop was cropping, and some slight level adjustment. Pretty awesome results for this awesome little point and shoot

Rant: I don't mean to offend PC users, but a lot of them give me crap when I tell them I'm a Mac nerd. I switched over 3 years ago because I was ready to chuck my PC in front of the subway. The blue screens of death. The spyware. The viruses. Windows Millenium Edition (it came pre-installed, and it wouldn't let me upgrade to Windows 2000 for some reason).

To make a long story short, it was traumatizing as hell and I lost a lot of irreplaceable work. After the last crash, I swore to switch over to the Mac. I've never looked back since.

This here is my first Mac (15" Powerbook G4 1.67Ghz), and an indispensable tool, whether for school, work or creative fun. It's by far the most intuitive computer I've ever had the pleasure of using. Despite newer and far more powerful machines, I'm still deeply attached to my baby! I'll still keep her around after I get my Mac Pro!

The first Apple PowerBook

Used Photoshop to paste the screen in, as I couldn't get the lighting right with the real shot. Plus, I don't have a tripod.

One of my favorite laptop ever!!

I sold it years ago, but I miss him :/

This the last gen of titanium, with a 1ghz G4...Hot as hell on your knees! The screen was trully amazing.

PowerBook G4 open, showing the wonderful 15.2" mega-wide screen. It is running Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger".

someone at the office left 4 coffin nails on my desk. still trying to figure out who it was. but i think they're pretty f'awesome.

...my current G3-iBook (up front) needs a replacement baaaad... the replacement is parked behind it (picked it up just today) :-)

On this pic I'm busy cloning the tiger-install from my ibook to the powerbook (easy does it)... :-)

Something which can't be seen in this pic is that it has minor damage, something I can fix myself though. But I need to do more to it than only some fixing cause I really can't walk around with a stock 12" powerbook, now can I... ? ;-)

This is my 2005 PowerBook G4 Aluminum (DL/HR) with a 15.2" display.
