One of my favorite laptop ever!!
I sold it years ago, but I miss him :/
This the last gen of titanium, with a 1ghz G4...Hot as hell on your knees! The screen was trully amazing.
PowerBook G4 open, showing the wonderful 15.2" mega-wide screen. It is running Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger".
someone at the office left 4 coffin nails on my desk. still trying to figure out who it was. but i think they're pretty f'awesome.
...my current G3-iBook (up front) needs a replacement baaaad... the replacement is parked behind it (picked it up just today) :-)
On this pic I'm busy cloning the tiger-install from my ibook to the powerbook (easy does it)... :-)
Something which can't be seen in this pic is that it has minor damage, something I can fix myself though. But I need to do more to it than only some fixing cause I really can't walk around with a stock 12" powerbook, now can I... ? ;-)
This is my 2005 PowerBook G4 Aluminum (DL/HR) with a 15.2" display.
The specifications of the computer itself are the following: 1.67 GHz G4, 2 GB DDR2, 250 GB HDD, 128 MB ATi Mobility Radeon 9700. It's been upgraded with an ExpressCard reader to be used in the PC-card slot. Geekbench result: 873.
Notable features at time of release for this model include a dual-layer SuperDrive, optical audio ports and a sudden motion sensor. Other things worth mentioning are that it has an illuminated keyboard and supports core image graphics. The body is made of anodized aluminum.
It runs OS X Leopard. It's currently acting as a backup computer and for some storage.
Original iBook (Tangerine, G3 300MHz, upgraded to 544MB memory & 10GB drive) still in active usage running 10.3.9 Panther (Tiger does not work because of lack of Firewire).
Alu PowerBook 15" (1,5GHz SuperDrive model, 1,25GB, 80GB).
Surprised? Well, yeah, I guess. Here's a picture of me slacking at work... yeah... slacking... yeah.
This was my first Powerbook. It was SWEET! It is an 800Mhz G4... I eventually sold it because the paint got so bad... Sad that the quality of paint on these machines was so low
Last time I leave Hobbes alone on the computer. Found him looking up dirty tiger porn. Triplets indeed!
I got bored and modded the 12" powerbook keyboard to read "macgenius" across the middle row.
This was back in the day when I owned it -- dec 2004 to oct 2006.
My powerbook sitting atop my new Crumpler School Hymn sleeve. I wish I had this a month ago when I dropped my powerbook and dented the corner...
Just a quick shot of my PowerBook 520c booting into 7.6.1

Restart the machine and hold the esc key down. When the mouse cursor appears on the gray screen, quickly type h, then p, then e, all while keeping the "esc" key depressed. Try the "h-p-e" sequence again if it doesn't work the first time. The key sequence shows you a box with a bunch of programmer's heads and a Copyright in red. Clicking the trackpad button starts up the computer normally.
My old PowerBook G4's SuperDrive is all screwed up. Over time, the case started to sag until I couldn't get a disc in or out of the drive, so I had to pry the slot open. Apple was kind enough to replace the top case under AppleCare, but not the bottom case. Unfortunately, the replacement top case didn't fit with the bottom case, so that's what created the opening in between...
This was one of the rare few, if not the only, notebooks ever built with a titanium skin - a huge departure from typical entirely plastic casings. However, the Wi-Fi signal suffered until a fix with the debut of the aluminum models.
It's not sharp, but I couldn't be arsed. Was too excited to start using it to look at the quality of the quick shot taken as a memento. :-)
Here's the old 40GB hard drive. About to pull it out and install the shiny new 160GB drive in it's place..
