All the cool kids are doing it, so I thought I'd give it a try too! One of these days I am going to get better at white balance, but the greenish tint of the image does give it a sense of looking through glass, so I'm not totally unhappy with the result.

Prototype Apple PowerBook 180c? Unsure at this time.

My bestickered Aluminum G4 PowerBook, and the TiBook booting.

This is using a slightly different technique. Note the brightness adjustment for the terminal window.

I put together a wire tray out of a rain gutter cover and some bolts. it works well. The lap top is plugged in, as are the lights, but the wires are well hidden.

I sold this Apple Powerbook back in December 2000.

PowerBook G4 15" keyboard on an iBook G3. I just had to trim the bottom tabs a bit, and the ribbon was too long so there's a bit of a bulge under the keyboard, but it works, which is better than the previous keyboard, which had nonresponsive keys 5 t g esc f2 f5 left shift f12 del. And it looks cool.

My setup.. 15" G4 Powerbook 1.5 gHz. Free on Tiger night. :D

The piece of contact paper is to prevent pitting. My PowerBook looks like the underwear drawer of a 90-year old woman..

but it won't pit. :D

Just got my 1GB upgrade for my PowerBook G4 12 inch installed, and sitting next to it is the old 512MB module that Metahari will get for her iBook.

Everytime i open my powerbook this little chaotic cat jumps ontop of it and enjoys the warmth emitted from the G4. Im just always afraid he might start to pee all the sudden ;)

Classic!

PowerBook 2400c (codenames: "Comet" or "Nautilus") was on of Apple Computer’s subnotebooks within the PowerBook line. Manufactured by IBM and introduced in May 1997 it replaced the PowerBook Duo 2300c. The PowerBook 2400c had an over-clocked PowerPC 603e processor at 180 Mhz. Missing from this model was a internal floppy drive that could be purchased separately; sound familiar - MacBook Air. Ports include: ADB, combined serial printer/modem port, HD-20 floppy port, HD-30 SCSI port, and VGA video out.

So... I was supposed to do this review of the iPad.

It didn't happen.

But I just found the photos I took for it, and uploaded them to my SmugMug account.

(BTW, I had uploaded one before... Way before...)

Strobist info:

This was so long ago, but there is definitely a shoot-through umbrella involved, from the right side of the camera. The flash is probably a YN-460 II, either at 1/64 or 1/128. Definitely triggered with RF-602's.

i just love apple's designs ;)

PowerBook is opened taking a train and my lover (iPod shuffle) is in a side. It is a very rich feeling.

I use kana-input mode (かな入力モード) for typing hiragana. however, almost Japanese people use romaji-input mode (ローマ字入力モード) for typing hiragana.

Kana-input is required JIS keyboard.

Romaji-input is enable by both US ASCII keyboard and JIS keyboard.

Powerbook 100, with missing rear foot. Oops. This photo was used by Steve Jobs in his January 2010 keynote introducing the iPad.

Did I squeal? oh my yes :)

Also eingeschickt, Apple gibt ja 1 Jahr Garantie.

November, 2000 | Fun with a cat, a Coolpix, and a Powerbook...

before the internet brought us the infinite cat site.

I don't use a laptop currently.

There were lotsa these apple powerbooks lining up at the Linux Installfest.

We put ubunt on them..

i like the distro, but not very impressed with the installer. i was very tempted to go get my mandrake CDs.

Its not a standard layout by all means.. if you need a hint then read the middle row left to right.

Broken 12" G4 Powerbook. Totally trashed, even the case is bent anything usable has been scavenged.

I leaned over to kiss my husband goodnight and saw the backlit keyboard. I had to grab the camera.

This demonstrates where Apple get their design so right. I came across this monstrosity today - the Advent 7080. Look at the size of this beast! That's my 15" Powerbook on the right, completely dwarfed! What the picture doesn't show is that the bottom part of the Advent is thicker than the PB with it's lid shut..... Are you seriously meant to carry that thing around with you??

The color came out really yellow b/c of the lights (which you will notice are moved out of view) The walls are white.
