We were spring cleaning our lab and I chanced upon this sweet box! It was from a time when the Apple logo had colors. By the way, anyone know why the Apple logo has a byte taken out of it? ^^. I was pretty excited when I found this. Does it even still work?

...backing up before I do a fresh install of Leopard on my old and trusted PowerBook (and talking about the name, I like PowerBook so much better than MacBook, but maybe I'm just whining ;-))
At the airport in the bathroom I hung my backpack on the provided outcropping. It fell. Apparently my backpack doesn't have enough padding. It works, but it's scary.

it's a wonderful tool! :)
Took apart my hosed PowerBook to try and liberate my harddrive. Operation PowerBook was successful. I was able to get my data back. The computer? Well, that's another story. The motherboard of my hosed PowerBook from which I had to liberate my harddrive. It reminds me of a landscape.
I'm finally wiping the hard disk on shrimp (my old ibook) so I can get it recycled.
The screen backlight has been broken for 4 years now. I used to use it as a print server, then later as a linux file server, but it was getting too old even for that. For the last year it's been gathering dust in a cupboard.
see, a hotel safe can hold my Powerbook 12" nicely. In fact, I bet it could hold about 8. Instead of bringing more laptops, I stored my secondary phone, handheld gaming console and mediaplayer.
MacBook Pros (MacBooks Pro?) and Powerbooks were popular at the conference. Naturally, I had mine there as well :).
It saddens me to move on but I must.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerBook_170
"The PowerBook 170 was released by Apple Inc. in 1991 along with the PowerBook 100 and the PowerBook 140. Identical in form factor to the 140, it was the high end of the original PowerBook line featuring a faster 25 MHz Motorola 68030 processor with Floating point unit (FPU) and a more expensive and significantly better quality 10 in (250 mm) active matrix display. It was replaced by the PowerBook 180 in 1992."
