My Power Book 1400cs/117 in my Mac Workroom

My beloved Apple PowerBook G4 550 Titanium.

I recently bought a Pismo PowerBook on eBay for a very fair price. I love Pismos. And this machine runs great.

Haha.... I can have at least one working machine. The one on the left can boot but the screen doesnt work. I don't think it's the screen problem as I had swapped the screen with the one on the right which is known working. So probably other problems on it?

Anne's new powerbook with auto-light-up keyboard. A tiny new feature but I love it - it enables better TV-watching and laptop use.

Instead of getting a brand new Macbook Pro and having to update to CS4, I decided to just get a new to me 12" G4 Powerbook. My 17" Powerbook, Hermie, still works and I get all my work done without any problem (other than being slower than the newer MBP's).

I primarily got Howie so I can be mobile again! The idea of doing work outside of my home office is quite exciting!!! He is fully loaded and is has the same specs as Hermie, except for the RAM (Hermie has 2GB, Howie has 1.25GB).

Recording ambient sounds in the work place, I work nights and am the only person in my area of the hospital so it's quiet enough for me to make "field recordings" of the various mechanical hums, hisses, clicks, and clatters.

...how 3.5" can be just as good as 55... and oh, that's screen size I'm talking about ;-)

...iPhone (3.5" screen), PowerBook 12" and 55" Sony video projection system (from 1984), all more or less at their preferred distances...

Finally I merge three PowerBooks into one :D

Me, my Apple PowerBook G4, and my Sony Clie (circa 2004)

PowerBook 180c – the second PowerBook with color screen (the first was the PowerBook 165c – I will add this model later)

And some other clutter in the background.

It wasn't as smooth as I thought it would be to add the new 1 GB chip to the PowerBook. It required more pressure than I was comfortable with to put the new chip in (at 30 degrees, of course!) Everything is okay though, and now I've got 1.5GBs of RAM. I've decided that OS X is almost useless with 512MB.

This is my old titanium powerbook g4 (gigabit).

After removing the stickers, I listed it on eBay and it was sold within 32 minutes. Amazing.

During MacExpo Cologne, Germany, 06/17/05

We were spring cleaning our lab and I chanced upon this sweet box! It was from a time when the Apple logo had colors. By the way, anyone know why the Apple logo has a byte taken out of it? ^^. I was pretty excited when I found this. Does it even still work?
