A beautiful church in a sloping churchyard, beautifully whitewashed on the outisde. Inside the church retains it's medieval rood screen and loft, though the loft has been altered by Caroe in an early twentieth century restoration. A church packed full of interest, woodwork and monuments from the 16th to the 19th century. On the floor is an early fifteenth century bell.

Really the only interesting thing about this one is how the road becomes more visible toward the end. But at least it was brighter outside.
Hopefully I can come up with something a little more exciting next time.
Post Rock Country is one of my favorite areas of Kansas, so when driving to Colorado I like to get off the Interstate and explore a bit. Located in north central Kansas, the landscape is dotted with fence posts made of limestone. This area's settlers used layers from the Greenhorn Limestone formation (also called Fencepost Limestone) for the stone posts for their fences due to the fact that they had settled on a treeless prairie. Notice the fence on the upper part of the road in this photo. In addition to using Fencepost limestone for fence posts, the stone was also used for other buildings. When exploring this area, one will find beautiful stone churches, county courthouses, homes, barns and business buildings. I processed this image on my iPad in Painteresque.

Phew. G's birthday present (for tomorrow!) arrived in the morning and I'm so relieved.
What I wanted to buy was out of stock for months. Until last Wednesday. Then it said it'd get shipped within 2-5 days... Which of course meant 5 days ;)
And then they said it would take 2 days for delivery, which it did. I was so so worried, because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pick it up from the post office today or if they'd kidnap it for the weekend... But the postman was here early today and I was late at going to uni so I ended up not needing to go to the post office for it :)
Sadly he's not going to get it tomorrow morning with breakfast in bed because I need to leave before nine because I have an exam...

Ich konnte das Masaker zwar nicht gänzlich verhindern, die Verhandlungen führten aber zumindest zur Erschaffung eines kleinen Blumen-Reservats. Nichts im Vergleich zum prachtvollen Blumenmeer, das sich noch vor dem dem Mähvorgang ausbreitete, aber ich kann mich trotzdem noch daran freuen! :)
P.S.: Hab ich eigentlich schon erwähnt, dass ich gerne einen eigenen Garten hätte?
