Photographed shortly after closure in 2003 replaced by a Bantam pillar box in the village. The house has now converted to a private dwelling. No idea where the old post office sign has gone. Grand archive photograph.

Vandaag doe ik dat met een 'flashback' naar 1983 toen er nog Posttreinen reden van PTT Post op het Nederlandse spoorwegnet. Motorposten (in nieuwe en oude kleur) bij Utrecht Lunetten (vlak voor het viaduct in de Waterlinieweg) passeren de MP's 3001 + 3028 met een aantal postwagons, uit de richting Arnhem, 22 april 1983, foto Bart van 't Grunewold.
The 332km post on the Bombala Branch is located at the log loading point, outside Hume. While the railway line remains on NSW land (and thus, so does this km post), the actual loading point is in the ACT, as the line skirts the border.

Reflections of a fence in a half-flooded field in Abingdon at sunset.
The posts divide the photo into two halves, the blue and the orange, but also help bring it together because of the symmetry of reflections.
The Saturday Evening Post has enjoyed everlasting fame for showcasing the art of Norman Rockwell and his portrayal of small-town America at its kindly best. The original magazine ceased publication in 1969, but owners Curtis Publishing has lately revived the title, mining its archives for special editions. I picked up this copy that looked at the early days of American motoring. The period car ads are fascinating. A great buy for $12.99. The cover features a La Salle.

The Frank Duffy 10 Mile Road Race 2012 was held in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland on Saturday 25th of August 2012 at 10:00. The race is now one of the most well attended fixtures on the Irish race calendar. It is part of the official series of races which build up to the Dublin City Marathon in October. This race follows on from the Fingal 10KM race and preceeds the Half Marathon in September, also in the phoenix park. This year the Frank Duffy 10 Mile attracted over 6,000 athletes took part. The rain finished just in time before the race began. Overall the 10 mile race was run on the familiar but tough course around the Phoenix Park.

Col. John Litz, Baltimore District commander, joined Fort Belvoir officials and emergency services personnel during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the North Post Vehicle Access Control Point (ACP), or Lieber Gate, on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 23, 2019. The ACP includes a two lane entry access road, vehicle inspection canopy, gatehouse, search building, search area shelter, guard booth, overwatch station, truck inspection canopy, ID check canopy, passive vehicle guardrail and traffic control. The Lieber Gate is one of several significant contributions to infrastructure improvements on Fort Belvoir that will allow for an improved security posture on the installation.
