During a visit to the Lenin Museum I purchased this post card. I believe we were the only visitors the museum had for the month.
Decoration Day – to become known as Memorial Day in later years – is being observed at Linkville Cemetery in this undated post card from Klamath Falls. The hilltop cemetery located on the outskirts of town had a commanding view of the surrounding countryside in the days before trees were planted. Numerous veterans of the Civil War, and some from the Indian wars, had been buried at Linkville by this time. The crowd that gathered came on foot, on horseback or by carriage, and by automobile. The community band is assembled at right. The numerous 48-star flags seen here don't offer much help in dating this photo. Better clues can be seen in the skyline of the growing town captured in the background by an unknown photographer. At far left is the Central Elementary School on Main Street. Just right of center is Klamath County High School above High Street. Just left of the high school is the steeple from the original Presbyterian church building. The last church service in that building was held in December 1919. Another clue suggesting a date in the late 1910s is a large coach from the Livermore Hotel, also known as the Houston Hotel, which burned in 1920. The patriotic display of flags may have been inspired by the Great War, later to be known as World War I.

Playing with some editing in Luminar too see what it can do. The Reactions so far have been positive. I'm not used to applying this much processing to a photo.
The brick buildings seen here stood at the corner of Fourth and Main for a long time, but have been gone for some years now. The building on the corner was constructed in 1909 by First National Bank, whose officers included Evan Rogers Reames as president. It was later replaced by another building constructed by the California Oregon Power Co. Real estate broker Chuck Fisher built yet another building on the site in 1972, and it remains standing. An L-shaped building constructed in 1912 wrapped around the bank building, and housed a variety of stores over the years. Among them was Golden Rule Associated Stores, Hal's Sporting Goods, the Rainbow Theater, and Garcelon's. The rear portion of the building was demolished many years ago. The portion facing Main Street was severely damaged in the 1993 earthquakes, and was torn town in May 1994. It was replaced by office space that has been mostly vacant. This photo was probably taken around 1915.
From the Jones Memorial Library post card collection. This is possibly a Plecker photograph.

The music room houses not only the Steinway Piano but a collection of old violins dating back to 1622 - a cello, zither and a small harp. Mirrors and chandeliers are outstanding in this room. Mr. & Mrs. D. J. Michaud, owners.
South Sixth Street was extended around 1905 from Klamath Falls across three miles of open countryside to the community of Altamont. This photo was taken shortly after the road was built, but before construction of the A Canal in 1906. The Altamont Ranch was located near the cluster of trees in the center of the photo. Another grove of trees at left is the location of the Stukel Ranch, close to where the YMCA is today.

The Klamath Falls community celebrated dedication of a new National Guard Armory on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 1935. The Armory was the home of Battery D of the Guard's 249th Coast Artillery. While the dedication ceremony was conducted by the military, numerous other events took place in the Armory in late 1935, including a basketball tournament, a classical musical concert, a holiday bazaar, a Lions Club carnival, a pinochle party, and a series of wrestling matches. Thousands of events were held at the Armory over the years until it closed in the 1960s. It became the home of the Klamath County Museum during the winter of 1969-70.
