A Post Card to Mrs. Cousins , Paulerspury, Towcester, Northants dated 15th September 1915. From EAC (Edith Ann Cousins) to her mother Frances Rebecca, nee Wood, Cousins the wife of William Richard Cousins. The family lived at Tews End, Paulerspury, Towcester in 1911. Edith died in Potterspury aged 17 in 1916.

Undated post card for Giant Rock Airport near Yucca Valley. According to the back:
"This unique airport of the 'High Desert Country; is located some 18 miles north of Yucca Valley off the Victorville road. It has been made famous as a convention site for Space Flight enthusiasts."
The automobiles parked at the Crater Lake Lodge suggest a date in the mid-1930s for this post card. Construction of the original lodge began in 1909, with the west wing – seen at left in this photo – being added in 1922-24.

Frank Aston “Post Card Views”
Photographer Frank Aston was hired in 1906 to photograph Cal Poly. It was likely that he was the sole photographer hired by the school administration to generate the majority of the photographs used by Cal Poly in its annual circular or bulletins, and the in the student publication, the Polytechnic Journal. In the 1909 Polytechnic Journal, Aston advertised “Poly photos” for sale, which he sold in his studio at 5 cents each.

Due to what appears to be a series number in the left corner, I assume this to be a studio picture of a model, but I could be wrong. Beautiful handwriting on the back, the address in particular. Ich bin nur ein Student. Does anyone care to attempt a translation of what must undoubtedly is a torrid love letter on the back?
A grain threshing crew takes a break for a photo while working in a field where Hogback Mountain dominates the horizon. Judging from the angle of the mountain and a smaller hill in the background, it would appear this crew was working in a field near the north end of Washburn Way. The grain separator was manufactured by J.I. Case Co. of Racine, Wisc., but unfortunately none of the men were identified in this post card image. It looks like there might have been a dusting of snow on Hogback. That, and the jackets the men are wearing, suggest a date late in the harvest season. The hand-written number indicates the photo may have been taken by Maud Baldwin.

This is probably the earliest photo in the set. She seems younger than the earliest passport photo. The photo process and the paper seem older than any other. There are no notations on the reverse.

An attempt at a linen post card look. More digital manipulation than I attempt as a rule... but I thought I'd see what happened. Chesapeake Beach was a popular resort for middle-class Washintonians in the 1890's - 1930's. North Beach - its neighbour - was a more residential area and is enjoying a renaissance as a center for the arts. It retains much of the old "funkiness" that Chesapeake Beach has lost.

First Baptist Church erected this building in 1905 at the corner of North Eighth and Canal streets. The latter, named for the Ankeny Canal that wound its way through town in the late 1800s and early 1900s, was later renamed Washington Street. First Baptist traced its roots to a group that began meeting in Poe Valley in 1884, reportedly making it the first church formed in the Klamath Basin. The group moved to Klamath Falls in 1900. This building stood until being replaced in the 1930s.
