The Klamath Falls Post Office was constructed in 1930-31 at a cost of $176,000. It was dedicated Oct. 21, 1931. It was originally hoped the building would double as a federal courthouse, although that never came to pass. Still, other agencies housed in the new building included the Bureau of Reclamation, the Army recruiting office, the county Extension agent and the state prohibition agent. When an addition to the building was proposed in 1960, there was concern over what to do about trees that had been planted on the site. A large pin oak was dug up and moved in April 1961 to the Boy Scout office in Kit Carson Park, where it is still growing. The addition to the post office was completed in 1964. This photo was not dated, but it was taken several years before the 1964 addition.

A grain threshing crew takes a break for a photo while working in a field where Hogback Mountain dominates the horizon. Judging from the angle of the mountain and a smaller hill in the background, it would appear this crew was working in a field near the north end of Washburn Way. The grain separator was manufactured by J.I. Case Co. of Racine, Wisc., but unfortunately none of the men were identified in this post card image. It looks like there might have been a dusting of snow on Hogback. That, and the jackets the men are wearing, suggest a date late in the harvest season. The hand-written number indicates the photo may have been taken by Maud Baldwin.

My 6x4lives group monthly personal challenge, for February.
The heavy stitching has pulled it out of shape slightly - not quite as much as it appears here.

Linen style post card of the museum at the end of Point Park atop Lookout mountain. The area where the people are drawn on this post card is still accessible, but the lower area is fenced off. I think the lower signs are also removed. This museum contains some civil war artifacts, but is better known for offering a great view of chattanooga
