Unfortunately lightly cloudy sky & bright moonlight. The comet was not visible without glasses or camera and nearly not visible with an excellent Zeiss-binocular.
At the moment totally cloudy skies. In case of clearer sky I'll try it again with 400mm tele ... so please stay tuned ;)
Pole position and dominant over the entire 10 hour duration of the event, the 31 car brought a win to a team that is losing one of its cars due to lack of sponsorship in 2020. Maybe this success and the narrow loss of the championship will open up some opportunities to keep the #5 car in the game.

A stately tree with heart-shaped leaves and delicious, slightly acidic raspberry-like fruit in late summer. The black mulberry is a long lived tree and is perfect for growing as a specimen as it has a more attractive shape than the white mulberry, with low gnarled branches. This also makes it easier to pick the sweet fruit, though it will take a number of years before it starts to produce its bumper crop. Keep in mind that these plants generally take around 7-10 years to produce fruit and ours are already 3-4 years old.
The V-22 Osprey is a joint service multirole combat aircraft utilizing tiltrotor technology to combine the vertical performance of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft. With its rotors in vertical position, it can take off, land and hover like a helicopter. Once airborne, it can convert to a turboprop airplane capable of high-speed, high-altitude flight. This combination results in global reach capabilities that allow the V-22 to fill an operational niche unlike any other aircraft. This aircraft has filled the assault support role for the US Marine Corps with the MV-22 since 2007. The US Air Force & the Air Force Special Operations Command has utilized the CV-22 variant since 2009. The US Navy began taking delivery of the CMV-22, featuring long range fuel tanks, in 2020. The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force utilizes a modified MV-22 in humanitarian support, search and recovery, and transport missions. The US Marines also utilize their MV-22s in a presidential support role at HMX-1.

Is it because of what happened in 1989 that the tian'an men square is full of security forces? Or maybe just a way to show that the people here has no reason to feel in danger? I would better consider the first option but I guess the official reason won't match with my guess...

A very recognizable symbol of the Pennsylvania Railroad remains in service today in a location far away from a PRR served location. Union Switch & Signal was able to sell a couple of the H-2 pot signals to the Chicago & Illinois Midland for use with crossing warning indicators. This one is at Shops in Springfield, IL at the North Grand Ave crossing. Another one I recall was in Pekin, IL. ETTS may come one day when North Grand becomes a bridge over the NS and I&M diamond.
The pot is displaying the stop indication. Clear is displayed once the crossing warning devices have been activated. This signal does not appear to convey authority across the interlocking.

A classically styled toll-house in Moretonhampstead complete with toll-board. Recorded as the 'Eastern Turnpike House' in the town in the Census returns of 1841 (Jenkinson and Taylor 2009).
Roads were improved everywhere during the 1700s, partly because of greater efforts by the parishes responsible but mainly because of the formation of "Turnpike Trusts". These were authorised by Acts of Parliament and could charge tolls for the building and upkeep of roads in their care. Toll-houses, small cottages with substantial toll-gates across the main road, were strategically placed at intervals along the main road; old toll-houses can still often be recognised by their strategic position looking out in both directions, with a blank window space where the list of charges was displayed.

The Newcastle Malmaison Hotel occupies a position on the Quayside adjacent to the new Millennium Bridge and looking across the Tyne towards the Baltic and Sage on the Gateshead side. The hotel, with its elegant art nouveau entrance canopy, inhabits a former Co-operative Society warehouse.
The Co-op Society annual report for 1915 makes reference to the building. It says, "The erection of this building was commenced in 1900 and completed in 1902. It originally consisted of eight floors, but in 1909 an extension became necessary and the roof, which had hitherto been flat, was covered in. The building is 90ft. wide by 120ft. long, and the height from floor to ceiling on each floor is a little over 11 ft. It is capable of warehousing between 7,000 and 8,000 tons. Being conveniently situated to the river and in close proximity to that part of the quay where the London, Continental, and other regular lines of steamers discharge their cargoes, it has proved to be a great boon to the departments it serves. One of the floors is used as a bonded store for the warehousing of dutiable goods, and it is, of course, only open during regulation hours. There are loading and discharging platforms fronting the quayside, and also at the back, which opens out into Sandgate. All goods on account of the Grocery, Butter, and No. 1 Grain Departments are dealt with by the staff there, and machinery has been installed for cleaning fruit and grain."
The building was constructed using a "Ferro-concrete" system developed by François Hennebique in France and employed in the UK under licence by Louis Gustave Mouchel. The technique involved the use of concrete reinforced with mild steel with the objective of providing fire resistance and robust construction at a competitive price.
In 1994 a £300,000 refurbishment of the Grade II listed warehouse was completed by Newcastle Quayside Developments Ltd and Amec Building.

At last the clouds and rain of the last few days cleared and I was able to take a shot of the Moon. This was taken at 5.30pm just before it got dark. It's a waxing, gibbous Moon 83% illuminated, 4 days away from being full.

A Oklahoma Brown Tarantula (Aphonopelma hentzi) assumes a defensive position with pedipalps raised. Its spinnerettes are clearly visible and appear to brace its body as it stands at somewhat of an angle. This spider was photographed on a dirt road (that is where you find them) on the Comanche National Grasslands of Colorado during their annual "migration".
Normally I wouldn't post Cynder like this but I wanted you to see the position she's resting in with her left paw turned backwards.
