Clouds reflected in a muddy pool on Walthamstow Marshes, with Horseshoe Thicket in the background at centre and left.

A hot spring in the Upper Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park. The distinct color of the pool is due to bacteria which inhabit the water. On a few occasions, Morning Glory Pool has erupted as a geyser, usually following an earthquake or other nearby seismic activity. Several entryways have been clogged due to objects being thrown in by tourists, reducing the hot water supply, and in turn altering the overall appearance of the pool. Several attempts by park officials to artificially induce eruptions to clear the pool of debris and clear blocked entryways have been met with mixed results. Due to the damage caused by ignorance and vandalism, it has been suggested that Morning Glory is becoming a "Faded Glory".

This was our first trip with digital cameras, almost 10 years ago. I am slowly adding photos to this album as time allows.

When things get to hot to handle, a dip in the pool should cool you off, unless things get hotter! ♥

Sunny's Studio Pose-Pool Ladder

The mysterious Doxey Pool on The Roaches escarpment. The pool has several stories linked to it, one being that it is bottomless and linked by a subterranean tunnel to Blake Mere which is approx 2.5 miles away. Another is that its the home to a malignant mermaid called Jenny Greenteeth, who lured people into the water to their deaths. Maybe that's why the pool has been fenced off since my last visit a few yeara ago.

Rock pool swimmers.

It is an iconic location that draws locals and visitors daily.

The ocean rock pool which is flushed by the incoming tides provide an ideal sanctuary for the early morning swimmers.

This is my final shot from the beach at Crayfish Creek. You can see the creek running into the ocean in the background. In the foreground is a shallow rock pool which reflects the stormy skies.

This guy hung around our pool for a few days when on holiday. I helped coax a few insects his way. I was sad when he went on his merry way after a few days! :)

Colourful hotel geometry

Little office space in our pool house. I like this spot :D

The Cascade Pool, Priory Woods, Sandwell Valley, West Midlands, UK

Located in the suburb of Maroubra is this magnificent ocean pool called Mahon. The tide was high and the sea swell the largest I've seen for some time over the coast. All images are available for print please message me for further details. www.benholmesphotography.com.au

These kids of mine were trying to kill each other and driving me crazy. So i had to get them outta the house... smh. Gladly no one was at the pool.

Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene Carolina Carolina). Found this little girl in the pool trap. I took her out to the woods by stream where she didn’t have to be in chlorine.

This is a photo of a wave sculpted pool of water on Clam Harbour Beach. I positioned the camera at the angle that captured the brightest luminosity of the sun highlights on the wet sand, and set the aspect ratio to 16:9 for this composition.

A reflection at Janesmoor Pond

Most of the time spent last summer prior to the passing of my father was at healthcare facilities such as Parkland Hospital where documentary urban exploration finds us this hot day about a year ago.

Reflecting Pool was taken at Beaver Lake in North Pole Alaska...on the way home from walk about in town ...was trying to catch some water fowl photos but they kept flying away ..did not have time to wait them out ....this part of lake is covered with fallen leaves just floating on top ..It snowed today and i managed to get a few shots of snow covered things ..I hate seeing the first snows but am happy when temps spiral down and everything is freeze dry .....

Ringwood Manor Park, New Jersey

Most of the tidal pool was opaque with brown mold and sediment, but this corner had some interesting seaweed visible.

To see the whole, varied collection of my photos of this ever-changing tidal pool, visit my album, That Protean Tidal Pool: www.flickr.com/photos/jerry-rockport/albums/7217772030227...

Late afternoon view of the pool at Himley hall and gardens - had a lovely hour walking around the pool - it was so calm and peaceful there..

Thank you my friends for the comment's and favourites, they are much appreciated! Enjoy the weekend...

A pool in the New Forest that I have photographed quite a bit over the last few years. Its surrounded by trees and has lots of interesting shapes and quite some character. This winter version was made on a recent day with frost and some mist which softened things nicely.

Sapphire Pool is a feast of color. This is another thermal feature in Biscuit Basin and is known for its amazing deep blue color. I found the gold and orange rim just as interesting. The pool is over 200 F degrees and seems peaceful now, but in 1959 an earthquake turned the pool into a huge geyser that obliterated the biscuit-like rock formations that gave the basin its name. By 1968 all eruptions had ceased and the pool returned to its quiet beauty.

A field of spring barley near Redcastle, Co Donegal basked in late evening sunshine. The view in the distance is over Lough Foyle.

Yesterday we had so much rain in our pool that it overflowed.

This has to be my most-photographed waterfall. I even photographed it in a painting-with-light photography session in the pitch dark. Unfortunately that session resulted in one flash falling into the water at the top of the waterfall and me falling into the pool at the foot of the waterfall. It was an interesting night to be sure!.

.

The waterfall can be found about half-way up the lower part of Pucks Glen in Argyll, Scotland.
