I set the camera up on a tripod and took a photo of the pool, and then stood on a ladder for a secondary stationary shot. Then in photoshop, I overlay the two images and erased the ladder.
The bar in the round, part is on the beach and the other part in the pool. This place is private and expensive.
Palouse Falls plummets 184 feet to the pool below. Palouse Falls was created during the creation of the Channeled Scablands by the great Missoula floods. The ancestral Palouse River was unable to contain the huge volume of water released during the floods and as a result the water overflowed the Palouse valley and headed south to the Snake River.
This view is looking downstream from the lip of the falls. At the top of the image is the state park viewing area. Karen and i found a way to get across the river and explore and photograph the falls from this vantage point. It turned into an adventure when one of the gates we passed through coming in was locked when we were headed out.
How not to love pool parties! Well, I'll tell you! My dearest friends threw me in the pool fully aware I had a cold and took no extra clothes. Hmpf!
