When visiting with our friends along the Sunshine Coast, I did my best to catch a unique photo for each. In this one, John is poised looking out beyond their property at the island that lay beyond. The clouds cooperated as they appear to point in his general direction, and his location directs the viewers gaze.
Little Grassbird (Megalurus gramineus)
Often heard around wetlands but not often seen. This one chose to grace me with a great opportunity for images at the Heathdale - Glen Orden Wetlands in May 2018.
There is currently one residing near the northern gate to the boardwalk but it has, so far, not shown itself.
Whenever we visit a place that has dragonflies I can't help but take dozens of shots because you never know - if you know what I mean.
On a bright, and super hot sunny day I caught this one perched in the shadows next to a lake.
I took the shot anyway thinking it might make a good silhouette, so I was surprised to see some actual detail in the wings and legs when I was editing it. Unfortunately I can't make out the ID.

A bald eagle is ready to get airborne in Pasco County, Florida, USA. The eagle was photographed in early morning golden light which lasts about 15 to 30 minutes on a sunny morning.
Thanks for visiting and for your faves and comments.
If you'd like to see more of my eagle images, go to schockenphotography.com. I have many images of eagles and other raptors as well as owls, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, songbirds and an interesting set of images of a bobcat with prey. I also have a full section on birds in flight which is my specialty.

A Great Blue Heron gets ready for takeoff on a cloudy day at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.
Wasn't able to get out to a park this AM like due to car issues (my wife's). So instead I'm sitting at home remembering a favorite wildlife sighting. There were 3 bobcat kittens in this tree. I spotted one, started photographing it and all the sudden another one, then another.
Unusually this little bird was all on it's own.
Turnstone - Arenaria Interpres
Oban Bay - Scotland

Sometimes my standing still for long times paths off. This Green heron flew right in where I was standing and started to hunt. Nice moment :)
An enigmatic orb, perfectly poised in its orbit, invites us to become its keen observers. Let your gaze wander and uncover the mysteries it holds—an observation worth orbiting around.
One of our more vibrant and stunning birds, yet so often overlooked
Starling - Sturnus vulgaris
The Garden - Guiseley
As always I extend my sincere appreciation to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on my photos.

This 7-spot ladybird blundered onto my hand (there were loads in the garden today) and I watched it climb up my finger and launch itself.
Lovely warm day. Heard the first bats of the year in the evening.
Handheld, natural light.
A Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach) was enjoying morning sunshine on a perch in a chilling morning. I like the typical pose here and the background blur. The colour tones under warm sunshine made it stand out against backdrop Bokeh. Pics was taken from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
Parthenos sylvia, the clipper, is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in south and southeast Asia, mostly in forested areas. The clipper is a fast-flying butterfly and has a habit of flying with its wings flapping stiffly between the horizontal position and a few degrees below the horizontal. It may glide between spurts of flapping.
