Fells Point remained a shipbuilding centre until the Civil War when it could no longer handle the larger ships then coming into use, and the area became a manufacturing centre, with innovations in canning and packing.
Eventually, much of the manufacturing left the city, resulting in urban decay until preservationists organized to save the area's historic buildings, and since the 1970s, a steadily increasing numbers of middle- to upper-middle-income residents have moved into the area, restoring and preserving historic homes and businesses.
We had a very pleasant lunch here by the river.
The trig point looks old, new trig points look like large metal tripods with a black circle on the top. This one was a pile of stones (I added one) with a sheep skull on the top.

Angler Eric Packard headed to the point/lighthouse while pulling two baits as I headed over. Catching one striped bass along the way in 23’ of water. Catching on a 2 oz blade bait.
I noticed birds on the shoal, but my thought was that bait was pushed up by the waves and the birds were taking advantage. Once there, the birds were moving quickly following the bait. So I headed over the shallows. 2.5’ and birds working. Then 4’ and 8’. Surely there couldn’t possibly be stripers under them. But I was wrong, I took a cast and hooked up then another (I took long casts because of the shallow and crystal clear water). Catching on jig and jerks shad.
I was out of time, promising to be back home on time, I turned away from the fish and made my way back to the ramp. Water temperature was 47.50 degrees.
