We've arrived at Hug Point. It's not long after low tide but the waves are already coming back in, nixing our full exploration.
On the day we arrived we went for a drive to Inskip Point late afternoon. It was quite overcast and very drizzly, but still beautiful.
Cleveland Point Light, also known as Point Cleveland Light, is a lighthouse located on the north-eastern tip of Cleveland Point, at Cleveland, a suburb approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) east-south-east of Brisbane, Australia. It overlooks Moreton Bay to the east and Raby Bay to the west. The original lighthouse was established in 1864-1865 as a wooden hexagonal tower. It is one of only two surviving lighthouses of this form, the other being Old Burnett Heads Light.[2] A newer light, constructed of a concrete post, replaced it in 1976, and the original lighthouse was relocated a short distance away, where it stands today. The newer light was removed in 2009.
By far the cleanest and the best beach I've come across so far in Southern California. There were maybe a total of 10 people on the beach. Absolutely clean and somewhat secluded. To get there requires a minimal walk down a dirt trail and steep staircase. The water is so clean you can actually see through it! And I found out that the last scene in the orginal "planet of the apes" where the statue of liberty was sticking out of the sand was shot on the far side of the beach.
Built in 1874, The Point Fermin Lighthouse was the first Navigational light into the San Pedro Bay in California. Federal employees under the Treasury Department staffed the lighthouse and were regulated by the U.S. Lighthouse Board. These employees were called Lighthouse Keepers. It was their job to keep the light lit as a beacon for ships, maintain the lighthouse lens, and the general up-keep of the building.

The Army West Point Black Knights play the Navy Midshipmen in the 123rd annual Army-Navy Football game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 10, 2022. For the first time in history, the Army-Navy game was decided in overtime with Army kicking a 39-yard field goal for the 20-17 double-overtime victory. (U.S. Army Photo by John Pellino/USMA)
There was some dense trees off one of the paths at Silver Lake, I decided since there was a lot of traffic on the path I was going to move off the path to not be in the way, as I was looking up, taking a deep breath, I saw the tops of the trees.. Now usually I would've just carried on my way, but there was something spectacular about how the little hole they created at the top was letting through the light, I went for it, knowing that this little window of light wouldn't last long, same in life, when there is a window and you know you have to take the chance, do it.
