Tacking Point Lighthouse is Australia's third oldest lighthouse. It was built on a rocky headland about 8 kilometres south of Port Macquarie in 1879, to a design by Colonial Architect James Barnet.
Tacking Point was named by explorer Matthew Flinders in 1802 during his circumnavigation of Australia.
Lizard Point is located at the southern tip of the Lizard Peninsula, and is the most southerly point on mainland Great Britain.

Rhych point Porthcawl. I made the trip to have a look at Ogmore but when I visited in the afternoon the sun was in the wrong place so I went across ot Porthcawl to grab some lunch. While there this tower caught my eye.
This is taken with my new Voigtlander 20mm, so I've spent some time trying to decern some difference from my previous lens & therefore justify spending even more money on photography toys. I have to say I'm quite please with the sharpness of the lens.

Sometimes you can only really appreciate things through the focus of scale... Fishing boats off the Lizard Point...awesome.

Peggys Point Lighthouse, also known as Peggys Cove Lighthouse, is an active lighthouse and an iconic Canadian image. Located within Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, it is one of the busiest tourist attractions in the province and is a prime attraction on the Lighthouse Trail scenic drive. The lighthouse marks the eastern entrance of St. Margarets Bay and is officially known as the Peggys Point Lighthouse.
This was taken in Lubec, Maine located at the northeast point of Maine. The lighthouse, seen here through the fog that rolled into the harbor area is located on Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. We stayed overnight here before our trip out to Machais Seal Island the next day.
An appropriation was made by Parliament in 1882 for the construction of a lighthouse near the southern end of Campobello Island to guide vessels through Lubec Narrows, the small passage between the island and the United States mainland. After the exact site was selected and specifications prepared, tenders were invited for the work, and a contract for $790 was awarded to Angus Fisher of St. George in 1883.
Mulholland Point Lighthouse, a wooden octagonal tower standing forty-four feet from its base to the vane on its lantern, was completed in 1884, but its fixed white light was not exhibited until 1885. E. Chanteloup, a Montreal establishment that outfitted many Canadian lighthouses, supplied the lantern and lighting apparatus at a cost of $683.26, and Malachi Parker was hired as the first keeper of Mulholland Lighthouse. The tower’s light was shown from a height of sixty feet and was visible up to thirteen miles.
Around the time Mulholland Lighthouse was constructed, Campobello Island was becoming a popular summer colony for wealthy Canadians and Americans. Among these was James Roosevelt Sr., whose wife Sara Delano had a number of cousins living in Maine. The Roosevelt family made Campobello Island their summer home starting in 1883, and it was there that their son Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who became the thirty-second President of the United States, would spend his summers. Part of the western wall of the Palisades of the Desert, Comanche Point rises up like a recumbent lion, its head facing into the sun, the mighty Grand Canyon below at its feet. In the distance the gash of the Canyon of the Little Colorado River cuts across the plain, and the cliffs of the Paria Plateau catch the last sunlight.
Landguard Point in Suffolk, UK. Sometimes it's noticing the little things next to the very big things they pay dividends. This twisted rope caught my eye as i walked down to the wrecked rail jetty. I stopped and weighed up the situation and decided i would commit my blue hour time to this comp over the iconic and ever popular jetty comp. For me this simple comp works perfectly, the twisted weathered rope and beach faded posts works so well with the swelling sea and pretty scattered cloud sky.

Another re-edit of an old photo that I like. Though you can't see them in the photo, the mosquitos were unbelievably bad. A swarm of them all around me and I was completely unprepared wearing only shorts and a teeshirt. I literally shed blood for this photo!
The lighthouse dates to the 1860's. More than 200 shipwrecks have occurred nearby. The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald made famous in a song by Gordon Lightfoot was a few miles offshore from this lighthouse. Due to all of the shipwrecks that have happened nearby, the "Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum" was built on the grounds of the lighthouse. A fascinating place to visit.

The Tawas Point State Park is known for the spring and autumn warbler migrations. The Spring migration occurs in May. This year, the state rebuilt the access road to the point. As a result, the road was closed until May 31st. By the time I could get there on June 8th, the warblers were gone.
No worries. The lighthouse, pier, and shore birds were interesting enough to make the trip worthwhile.
