Photos of trees and flowers from around our house on 4-15-2020

This will wrap up my extensive uploads of Luna Moth photos (unless I find another one before the frost hits). I do have one other photo on my iPhone of my first Luna Moth of the summer, but I have not posted it yet. The white one that I just posed was the third sighting of the summer.

This series was my second separate Luna Moth sighting. I was surprised and glad to see this one managed to stay unharmed, clinging to the stairs leading into a local high school athletic complex. With so many people coming and going, it would have been easy for this moth to get in harms way. It managed to stay there, headed up a step, for several hours. What became of it after I left is anyone's guess.

Molly makes a mean latke. Yum!

Taken with Sigma DP2s pocket camera.

He likes catnip and sitting on his hind legs.

Continuing the tradition of shooting the first sunset of the year was accomplished this evening.

This was taken from the same spot as last night by the old elm tree. I took four more shots here. I couldn't decide which one(s) I liked best, so I am posting them all.

I hope to get caught up on everyone's photostreams over the next few days. I know I've missed a lot.

This tree alone also made a nice sunset silhouette.

Chris and Cory thank me for hosting a party.

On the Indy Flickr Meet to Crown HIll Cemetery, I found these tiny grave markers all in a row. www.flickr.com/photos/fittyhiss/1627725935/

I tried to take a pic of the marker behind them, but the light gods (and time) were against me...as those alumni felt compelled to honor their comrades with a memorial, I needed to return for this stone.

Swans, while so graceful in water, don't look so graceful walking. With this one walking on the ice, you can really see the 'pigeon-toed' gait. Another swan decided to slid across the ice slowly, rather than walking. It wasn't injured, because I saw it get up and start walking when the sliding seemed too slow.

This was just a quick stop at the park while it was snowy and I only had my pocket camera. In a way, that was a good thing because it made me take some different shots and angles since it only has a 3X zoom.

I found these plants sprouting along Crooked Creek just days before spring officially arrived in 2012. I do not have any idea what they are.

During the spring, summer and fall months, I enjoy walking by a friend's house to see all of the beautiful plants and flowers that she and her family have planted around their yard. These beauties were taken in August 2013. There is a bonus in some of the shots - a bee flying around and into the flowers.

My mom believes these are Gladiolus. I have a lot to learn when it comes to identifying flowers, so feel free to correct us if we are wrong.

as I was taking this we started to turn off of eastbound 16th onto Crawfordsville Rd.(Hulman Memorial PKWY) to backtrack on our way to downtown. Both 16th St. and Georgetown Rd. are closed for the race.

These two trees make a lovely sunset silhouette.
