livhouse, theparonomeister amuses me, (view his stream, only if your sense of humor is in order)...i'm viewing his laptopdog, in front of his laptop, on my laptop...which (happily) seems to be working (pray thanks to theBigGuy )...I'm so happy to have my electronic pacifyer back!

This will wrap up my extensive uploads of Luna Moth photos (unless I find another one before the frost hits). I do have one other photo on my iPhone of my first Luna Moth of the summer, but I have not posted it yet. The white one that I just posed was the third sighting of the summer.

This series was my second separate Luna Moth sighting. I was surprised and glad to see this one managed to stay unharmed, clinging to the stairs leading into a local high school athletic complex. With so many people coming and going, it would have been easy for this moth to get in harms way. It managed to stay there, headed up a step, for several hours. What became of it after I left is anyone's guess.

Digging in the archives again ... I am working through some photos I recently moved off an older computer.

I had to wait for a couple of cars before I could pass the buggy safely. When I did pass it, I held my pocket camera up toward the passenger window and fired, hoping to get a shot of the white horse. It is not a high quality shot, but it was interesting enough to salvage and use a Photoshop filter on it. Both the filtered and the unfiltered version of the horse are shared.

I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count!

Somebody needs to get that frog a winter coat!

Looking through some of my holiday shots from last year that I never posted, I came across this photo and it made me smile. Hopefully it makes you smile too. It was taken on a walk in the snow.

These two shots were taken along Lake White on Ohio 104 on the way back from picking up my grandfather's violin from local luthier Mick Ward. My aunt had given me the violin a few weeks before when she and my uncle were preparing to downsize and move south.

It needed a little work to be in playable condition again and Mick did a good job getting it back together. Now if I can just master the violin!

I really liked the clouds that the storm generated along the lake.

Adam has discovered the "Twilight" feature on their new compact camera. Some people might call it a P&S - but it does so much more than that. The Twilight feature takes several frames in quick succession, and processes them together to create awesome shots at twilight - or in the middle of the night, like this.. It's a little like an automatic HDR - and a pretty damn sweet feature!

I'll just have to muddle along with one frame at a time - but I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out. I like the composition, the lighting, and the story-telling aspect of photographing the photographer at work. That's not meant as a brag on myself - it's meant to convey how happy it makes me when a photograph "turns out" as sweet as this one - and the portrait of Adam and Tina together. It's what makes the craft so much fun.

This is the bloom on a cucumber plant during the summer of garden photography in 2013. I had arthroscopic hip surgery to repair my torn labrum on June 13, 2014. So I did a lot of garden photography that summer as a way of getting my photo fix without taxing my leg.

A sleeping bat was the last thing I expected to see prior to going inside my chiropractor's office on this fine September 2013.

Here was this little bat sleeping away on the bricks beside the window by the waiting room. I am certain that it was sleeping and not dead because I could see it was breathing.

I approached cautiously as I didn't want to wake it. In a way, I wish it could have woken up long enough to lift its head and give me a better shot.

This is the first and only time I've photographed a bat in the wild (not in a zoo).

Does anyone know what kind it is or if this is normal behavior? It was sleeping on a flat surface - not hanging on a brick wall.

The employees at my chiropractor's office did say they saw bats quite frequently and sometimes they are on these bricks. The bats like the lights over the sidewalk at night because there are plenty of bugs.

My newest pocket camera is shock-proof and has underwater capabilities. Although it has the latest technology, this peach colored Hibiscus presented a challenge to the processor since the color was so intense. These flowers at Springmaid Resort were beautiful during our stay there in Myrtle Beach.
