On the Indy Flickr Meet to Crown HIll Cemetery, I found these tiny grave markers all in a row. www.flickr.com/photos/fittyhiss/1627725935/
I tried to take a pic of the marker behind them, but the light gods (and time) were against me...as those alumni felt compelled to honor their comrades with a memorial, I needed to return for this stone.
A roll of expired (2001) Kodak Gold 200 given to me by a student. Shot in a Vivitar AF300 mostly at the Oregon Zoo
Swans, while so graceful in water, don't look so graceful walking. With this one walking on the ice, you can really see the 'pigeon-toed' gait. Another swan decided to slid across the ice slowly, rather than walking. It wasn't injured, because I saw it get up and start walking when the sliding seemed too slow.
This was just a quick stop at the park while it was snowy and I only had my pocket camera. In a way, that was a good thing because it made me take some different shots and angles since it only has a 3X zoom.
I found these plants sprouting along Crooked Creek just days before spring officially arrived in 2012. I do not have any idea what they are.
During the spring, summer and fall months, I enjoy walking by a friend's house to see all of the beautiful plants and flowers that she and her family have planted around their yard. These beauties were taken in August 2013. There is a bonus in some of the shots - a bee flying around and into the flowers.
My mom believes these are Gladiolus. I have a lot to learn when it comes to identifying flowers, so feel free to correct us if we are wrong.
as I was taking this we started to turn off of eastbound 16th onto Crawfordsville Rd.(Hulman Memorial PKWY) to backtrack on our way to downtown. Both 16th St. and Georgetown Rd. are closed for the race.
I'm not really sure who started the "fungus among us" saying or where I picked it up, but it seemed appropriate for the shot I decided to post tonight.
This was taken along some trail during summer vacation to North Carolina. I kept my little pocket camera with me so I could take shots like this. It is easier than my DSLR to put down on the ground at some funky angle.
I noticed this interesting tree near a parking lot on the campus of Ohio University when I was there for a tennis tournament. I had never seen anything like it, but the tree was easy enough to identify with a book since it is so distinct. Since that time, someone in the neighborhood has planted a couple of these trees, so now I see them on a regular basis.
Turkey baster wasn't on the list of things I was supposed to get. It's not my fault we didn't have one.
This is the same butterfly as the previously posted photo. It thought it was going to get away from the camera by going into the weeds. It found so much more. A volunteer Zinnia flower was hiding in there. Once it landed on the Zinnia, it didn't care about me or my camera.
There were Zinnias planted in the community garden across the field from this creekside path. I didn't realize Zinnias traveled, but apparently they do.
