In the dark of night
alone I wait
viewing the same horizon
you arrive and cast your light
but only for your pleasure
I lay here because you live
and think I am your treasure
to tired to go out, to warm to sleep, things on my mind and feeling restless so had a little play till battery grip ran dry as i knew there wasn't much juice left in it anyways and it needs a fresh recharge for later
More experimentation in lighting and using glass and Christmas Paper for an interesting backdrop.
Lots of fun experimenting on a very frigid day.
How it looked when I was shooting it in the first comment.
With the Sun now moving northwards since our Summer solstice, more opportunities arise for random spot lighting. A plastic rubbish bag took advantage this afternoon.
Playing around with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and one of my light tools reflected in a bathroom mirror. Love this fun technique.

don't seem to have much time these days and been up against the creative brick wall for a while now, managed to catch a rare hour yesterday and grab a few spins
Two AlienBees on the background, ABR flash, via CyberSyncs.
Justin gave me the files to play with, I beat him to uploading these two, we'll have uploading wars!
Sorry for my flickr absence everyone - I"m currently staying busy with side projects and working on an upcoming HDR series and web blog. But I do hope to be back to my regular flickr appearances very soon.
As for the shot above it was done at an abandoned retirement home. It was a collaborative effort w/ Jeremy aka tackyshack who is a light painting genius.

'Remake' from an old photo from 2015 I can't find the large version of anymore... :/ But I do like the 'added' shadow in this one... :)

I was experimenting with different lighting angles, ISO settings and White Balance when I took this one. I love the way the tulip seems to glow from within. I'm going to use a polarising filter next time, to try to sort out the double reflection, but this was a first attempt and it was fun :-)
A triptych of three refractograms using light from an LED torch refracted/reflected at right angles by the base of a faceted whisky tumbler onto a Sony A7Rii sensor (no lens fitted).

Arcibasilica Papale San Giovanni In Laterano, Roma

Subject: Abstract

For this assignment, I brought out the light wands and did some light painting reflected in the bathroom mirror to create this abstract. I love light painting ! !

"Hope is but the dream of those who wake." - Matthew Prior
-----
Monday was a very busy day with very little time for much other than what needed doing; spent the evening out with my Mom getting some last minute shopping done and realized as we were about to leave that I hadn't turned the camera on all day.
Tried a few things, but the mall was limited in options so I ended up shooting the lights hanging by the elevator, bokeh style.
Simple, but effective!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

This is me, wandering off on a tangent for a wee while...
Most people familiar with my stream will be aware of my fascination with people. But my recent retreat to some gloriously deserted coastline made for an equally glorious peopleless distraction.
So… here’s a short series playing with the light in The Gower [South Wales].
