I set out this morning to take a picture of a frozen zinnia that has been taking up room in my freezer. As I was working on that image, the dew drops and sunlight quickly captured my attention.
I like how there is a sweet spot for focus, too close or too far everything is blurry but beautiful. I feel like this is how our attention and memories work. What we focus on is clear and everything else just beautifully blurs.

Lungo il Tevere... Roma 2014
L'appuntamento è all'Arena "Gigi Magni", dedicata agli eventi culturali. L'ingresso è libero.

“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”

To all my Jazzercise and Zumba peeps, thank you for sharing the fun times with me. Also, thanks to my family for listening to me plunk away on the piano as I keep on trying to learn. I appreciate my parents for their love of music and passing that interest to me. Some of my best memories all have to do with music.

Ever feel like all of our destinies could fall apart like a house of cards? The world and what holds it together feels so fragile yet we have entrusted our future and safety to those who have no understanding of nor care for the history or our laws. I am feeling very anxious about the stability of our world and am not quite sure what to do with these emotions.
PS for those who care, I was trying to use hard light and balance it with flash. And yes, I have used this idea before for the snails.

And now you're mine. Rest with your dream in my dream.
Love and pain and work should all sleep, now.
The night turns on its invisible wheels,
and you are pure beside me as a sleeping amber.
No one else, Love, will sleep in my dreams. You will go,
we will go together, over the waters of time.
No one else will travel through the shadows with me,
only you, evergreen, ever sun, ever moon.
Your hands have already opened their delicate fists
and let their soft drifting signs drop away; your eyes closed like two gray wings, and I move
after, following the folding water you carry, that carries
me away. The night, the world, the wind spin out their destiny.
Without you, I am your dream, only that, and that is all.
Pablo Neruda
In the dark of night
alone I wait
viewing the same horizon
you arrive and cast your light
but only for your pleasure
I lay here because you live
and think I am your treasure
More experimentation in lighting and using glass and Christmas Paper for an interesting backdrop.
Lots of fun experimenting on a very frigid day.
How it looked when I was shooting it in the first comment.
With the Sun now moving northwards since our Summer solstice, more opportunities arise for random spot lighting. A plastic rubbish bag took advantage this afternoon.
