A Slow Shutter Speed and a Hand held Torch were used to achieve this effect

on the 4th i used a long exposure and had my cousin(mary) write her name with a sparkler.

i thought it turned out well, especially because i didn't have my tripod with me

For some reason I was feeling ambitious today. I decided to do something with lighting. I set up both studio strobes to do this. one directly behind me shining into my 7ft umbrella, the light blew out all of the ribs of the umbrella to make a solid white background. Up front I had a light through a soft box pretty close to me and I hand held my camera. I used a fisheye lens, a bad choice and why this shot looks weird, but the lighting was sound and I guess I got what I was looking to do.

This is one of the results of today's experiment. Took this into the sun. The results are fun I think.

Exorcism

This is a very funny experiment that we tried. It is called Painting with light... In absolutel darkness you start shooting with looong exposure and the object is lit by a moving torch. This is what happens in the end:)
