Went up in a small plane today, I had not done that before! What fun. Took a lot of pictures I'll be putting them up this week.

Oakden Baptist Church Planes day.
On Saturday, the Cedar College oval transformed in to a model plane spectacular as more than 270 people, including 140+ kids, from all around the community came to participate in this very special family event, running over 4 sessions.
With help from mums and dads … kids assembled their very own rubber band powered planes … to then challenge each other for the longest and most accurate flights, displaying amazing tricks and aerobatics … we had an absolute blast … awesome fun!
We had rubberband driven planes, paper planes, remote control planes, stories about planes and distance and accuracy challenges.

This plane crashed very close to my home. The sight of this was very disconcerting as two people were injured and one died. Thankfully it didn't crash into any houses. As you can see, it is literally in the back yard of some homes.

Looking at the planes through detail of viewing deck of the Kansas Aviation Museum.
The viewing deck in the 1940s and 1950s was where travelers and local citizens could watch the planes fly in and out. When the USAF took over the building the deck was enclosed and used as a mechanical room. In 2006 the deck was restored to its former glory.
