A pilot intentionally crashed his small single-engine plane crashed into a building in Northwest Austin Thursday morning.

A great couple of days in Legoland. Lots of rides done, places seen, walking around, ice cream and some new sets to construct asap.

So, I'll be leaving on a bigger jet plane to NC tomorrow, but I took this picture at the hotel I'm staying at...which is right by the Int'l airport's runway. I find watching planes land to be very comforting.

Many thanks to the owner of this plane.

...and one of the most visible, since it's easily visible from Mount Holdsworth, and the whole ridge between Holdsworth and Jumbo Peak. This one occurred some time in the 1950's, I think.

Now that I've seen it from a distance, I'd quite like to set aside a weekend to try and get to it, maybe as a daywalk from Jumbo Hut, but I hear that's quite difficult.

Instantly recognizable to me, only because there was one on the Vassar Library lawn, which at one point had the longest unsupported branch in the world. Then they supported it. Go Brewers!

Oakden Baptist Church Planes day.

On Saturday, the Cedar College oval transformed in to a model plane spectacular as more than 270 people, including 140+ kids, from all around the community came to participate in this very special family event, running over 4 sessions.

With help from mums and dads … kids assembled their very own rubber band powered planes … to then challenge each other for the longest and most accurate flights, displaying amazing tricks and aerobatics … we had an absolute blast … awesome fun!

We had rubberband driven planes, paper planes, remote control planes, stories about planes and distance and accuracy challenges.
