Another pitstop on my way to work.

A few minutes later when I was waiting for a traffic light, I was hit by another car from behind. The driver did not see me standing still. Fortunatly there was only material damage and beside a sour back I'm feeling fine.

Have a great weekend my friends!

This picture was taken in the hallway of Angkor Wat's main temple. I really like the way the light came through the windows and cast a nice shadow.

Barcelona - Montmelo Marc 2011

On this day for exactly two years ago we entered Italy for last time in the two years Corona has lasted until now.

Our car broke down and we had a pit stop in Matterello. The wait for a replacement car was used to capture the beautiful mountains in Trentino.

In just two days we start the car and drive back to Italy and Toscana, and we can’t wait. Our “isolation” has lasted 731 days …

'Pit Stop' - Again something very different from today for my speed paint from this morning. This time focusing on a race car pit stop. Something quite beautiful about the pit crew, the way they are all poised to lunge at the car as it comes to a halt and they all go about the their work...a real sense of imminent action, poised...I also love the rain, the super bright headlights and the rain drops picked out in the beams... ( originally photo reference for the painting was by Dirk De Jager )

OOOOHHH IT'S FURTHER THAN I THOUGHT ;)

On my way home from Michigan, I debated stopping here. I've made this stop twice before on that drive home, and it's a nice break, though it's kind of early in the trip and leaves me with over 5 hours of driving still to go. On this morning it was raining, so at first I didn't even consider it.

But as I continued to drive south, the rain started breaking up, so I finally consulted a weather map and decided to chance it. Glad I did; the clouds were intermittent, which meant I also got plenty of sun there. And the timing was just right for fall color - when I've gone before, the leaves were gone. I didn't have my binoculars, but I did have my telephoto lens, so I saw plenty. You can see a yellowlegs here in the lower left; both kinds were present, as were Killdeer, Pectoral Sandpipers, and a dowitcher. A pair of swans flew over, and next door at Magee Marsh I was surprised to see a pair of Sandhill Cranes while I put up with an absolute invasion of small beetles on the wind.

I believe that she is dressed up as the version from the "Wacky Races" cartoon show (late 1960s-early 1970s).

This made me happy as I used to watch "Wacky Races" as a little kid.

Waiting for refueling (dinner)

NS 8102 leads 205 down the last mile of the Belden Hill as they enter the northend of what was once the massive Bevier St Yard. The train will stop for a quick refuel before moving down to QD and will do a pickup before later recrewing and departing west for Chicago.

Not a car guy but I really liked the speed champions set. So with the crew from the Shell sets and Michael, I created a quick diorama to showcase the car. :)

This particular 7-11 is well-stocked with rows upon rows of quick bites, as some ladies purchase some snacks before rushing off to their next destination. I wonder if they regretted not reaching earlier to have a nicer meal at one of those restaurants around the airport.
