Downy Woodpecker, female, Lynde Shores, Ontario

A quick pitstop at a convent to wait for one of our guides who was having an asthma attack back down the hill. Time for a few quick snapshots.

Inhaler used, our guides arrived back with us and we set off at a slightly more leisurely pace. Thankfully he was fine and suffered no further problems with his asthma.

Imperial eagle- keizerarend....this trunk was his stop between the treetops and the ground. The distance between me and the eagle was rather large but I like this picture because of the look he has. A real eagle eye with the brow hanging a bit.

A snapshot taken of yours truly by my conductor while stopped at "HK", just east of Ohio Pyle, PA. I don't have any of my timebook info handy, but judging from the time of day and the four axle GE on the point, I'd guess this is one of the two eastbound "jets", either Q136 or Q138, that normally traveled the Keystone Sub in daylight. Whichever the train, the beautiful early spring day in the Alleghenies certainly made for a worthwhile few minutes stretching our legs along the banks of the Youghiogheny.

Sarasota Classic Car Museum, Florida, USA. This lonely little Sunbeam was sitting out back, just begging to be restored. Hopefully, she got the attention she deserved.

What an awesome sight.

With a mandatory 2 min pitstop during the enduro race several years ago, we went wit a driver change also. My crew chief stand infront of the car with the stop watch, while my co-driver puts the finishing touches on the window net installation.

Hi, all!

So sorry for my very conspicuous absence on flickr these past weeks. Work has been extra crazy, but there does appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel approaching. =)

Hoping to get back to flickring much more, soon, and cannot wait to catch up with your pics and streams!!

In the meantime, wishing you a wonderful Saturday.

Peace ~ Jen

A welcome coffee and cake at a glorious spot to take in the views from Berry Head in Devon. The cliff in the distance was being climbed by a few people during the time we were there. Cheers - thank you for joining me on our journey. Have a super Saturday all - keep smiling xxx

"Berry Head National Nature Reserve guards the southern half of Tor Bay. One of the gateways to the English Riviera Global Geopark, it is an internationally-acclaimed heritage site, home to a fascinating variety of wildlife and history, with recently-restored Napoleonic War fortifications. Enjoy the stunning views and superb local food at the new Guardhouse Cafe, visit the Visitor Centre, enjoy one of the many events, and walk the ramparts as the soldiers did 200 years ago.

It's also a great site for some serious rock climbing and kayaking for the more adventurous.

Berry Head is free to visit and open all year.

If the lighting in my new room was on fire, I wouldn't piss on it.

Lara walked along the tracks following a path worn by pilgrims and then turned into the fields. Here she stopped and, closing her eyes, took a deep breath of the flower-scented air of the broad expanse around her. It was dearer to her than her kin, better than a lover, wiser than a book. For a moment she rediscovered the purpose of her life. She was here on earth to grasp the meaning of its wild enchantment and to call each thing by its right name, or, if this were not within her power, to give birth out of love for life to successors who would do it in her place.”

After the first week of operating the new Rail Charter Services "Staycation Express" on the Settle and Carlisle line, the locomotives and stock return to Crewe for a brief overnight stay for running repairs and maintenance.

Leading the 5Z47 ECS move through Hartford as it returned from Skipton to Crewe was Locomotive Services Limited's Class 47, 47593 "Galloway Princess". whilst on the rear was Class 37, 37521 / D6817.
