on a sunny summer day

Position #346 July 28, 2007 Explore/Interestingness. Thank you all!

This lovely blossom has been my screensaver for about a week now, so it is a joy to see it every day.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that commented, faved and awarded this photograph.

Another of my favourite flowers :)

Taken at Nakanoshima-Rose-Park, Osaka.

Can't understand why I did not up load this on Valentine's day?

There are a couple of blemishes on the petals which could easily be clone out but somehow, I think they add to the charm of the flower.

Walking amongst the wildflowers on the cliffs at Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight.

Those archives just keep on giving…

Loved the lovely pale pink of this water lily, seen while canoeing at Mill Lake in Abbotsford, B.C. (10-06-29-1198)

It was actually painful to see my lovely porch flowers covered in snow this morning. The pots were too heavy to bring inside so we will wait to see which ones were tough enough to brave the cold, wind and snow that we had. I am still longing for autumn so lets hope it warms again. (Not that great a shot but it was COLD.)

blossom explosions ;)

been feeling a bit sick - long story.... so, havent been on much - and will need to do some "normal" stuff on the weekend - that means.... i need to produce some frames for a big photo competition, handing it all in on Tuesday.... so, busy busy busy :)

my org plans for the weekend, did include taking pix - but i doubt it at the moment :( but, will be checking in on u once in a while :)

I promise I haven't Photoshopped this...it really was that pink! It was so pink that I interrupted my BBQ to go and take this photo! The sun was setting behind me at this point, and i hardly even noticed the increasing colour in the sky to the south east over the Torridon mountains. To be fair, I was hungry and looking at a BBQ.

This was taken from Sands Campsite at Big Sand nr Gairloch - a brilliant place, will definitely go back.

I couldn't resist sharing another photo of Pinkachu with her favorite lollipop.

Early Summer Flowers

紫陽花、アジサイ

Peeking up into the underside of a cyclamen blossom. With a macro lens, of course.

This is my first wedding cake! My first big three tier cake covered in pale pink fondant. Roses and blossoms all made with fondant. Top tier is lemon, middle tier is chocolate and the bottom tier is vanilla.

This was very nerve wracking for me as it was my first wedding cake. I had to assemble on site as the reception location was up several flights of stairs so I was not able to transport the cake stacked. And thank goodness I didn't have to transport this cake assembled cake as it was sooo heavy!

I got there about 4 hours before the reception started and thank goodness I started early as I got the assembly done and just started on the decorating as a huge flurry of people came to decorate the place, set up speakers and balloons and arches in the same area. At times it was hard to stay focused with loud hip hop music blasting from the speakers :) And at times it was hard for me to decorate under the scrutiny of people watching me.

Overall I was really pleased with the way the cake turned out but of course I can see all the flaws and would definitely change things if I had to do it over again. Lots of lessons learned!
