I have been taking photos of the peonies in my yard every couple of days. Some are finally opening into flowers. Very pretty. This was taken May 21, 2010.
My last batch of photos from the rose garden didn't focus on roses primarily, since many had finished flowering, and I've taken (and posted) many before. However, I couldn't miss the opportunity to try some shots with the lovely blurred background my new lens can produce.
I found the metering was inaccurate, and I was having to underexpose to get the flowers correctly exposed - I don't know much about metering yet, but I've not had this problem with other lenses. The upshot is, the background is nice and dark, as well as being blurred, so the subject stands out better.

On day whatever it was I introduced you to Drobo. He's great :) However, to get our lives onto Drobo took a little more time than anticipated. Thus I've not been able to do anything properly computer related since errrm, about Thursday! Sorry ;)
On Friday when I got home from work to be honest I really couldn't be bothered with anything vaguely techinical, so I plonked a couple of gerberas in the living room and bolted my Ikea fluorescent lights to the coffee table and hoped for the best. Think they came out okay for a bodge job!!
