This cake was made for my son's friend who is turning 10 and having a masquerade themed party. Her name is Destiny.
Top tier 6 inch is dark chocolate mudcake, bottom tier 8 inch is cherry ripe mudcake both with dark chocolate ganache and covered in fondant. With sugar flowers and a fondant skirt.
Hand made sugarpaste mask. Only things not edible are the feathers, gold ribbon and diamantes. I covered some rice krispie treats with fondant to place the feathers into and support the mask.
Since it stopped raining 13 years ago, I have rediscovered the virtues and joys of old fashioned flowers like this - a tall geranium that flourishes in the dry area along my front fence. I took it from a cutting of an old overgrown garden many years ago, and it has thrived ever since. EXPLORE #286 6 June 2009. Thank you everyone for your comments and faves!
It was April when i took the photo. The garden was full of nice flowers. The smell was really good and bees were flying around.

Ever seen a pink range rover? Here in hollywood, I spotted this pink range rover off robertson street right across from the ivy restaurant. This must be a celebrity car. I will have to do some research on this one

Pink flowers photographed by my mum in her neighbour's garden at Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. She has a Canon EOS 50D with a super Tamron macro lens. This is a pink flower that she particularly liked. Uncertain of its name.
