Weekly Theme: In Full Bloom (Flowers)
Week 24
Taken June 18, 2016
Title: Pink
Notes: This week we had a great place to find subjects. We are lucky enough to be near one of the oldest arboretums in the US, the Morris Arboretum (1887). It has some of the most beautiful trees, groves and orchards, but is also home to a truly gorgeous rose garden. While my photo is not of a rose, it is my favorite blossom from the garden, taken in the relatively early morning, with dew and water droplets still hanging from the petals.

Here you can see the reverse side of the skirt and the how the separate pink bodice fits over the blue one. The first release had a darker pink bodice. I would like to get my hands on one of those because it's more film accurate, the blue doesn't show through as much, and it's the version I had as a kid. I'm happy with this one though. It was in a beat up package, never removed, so new to me! The dent had given her regular bangs a cowlick like in the movie, and it was being sold from a charity organization so I got it for pretty cheap.
Seeing those pink clouds in the sky, I needed to find some pink objects in the foreground. I finally found them.
this is the first cake I made in Bulgaria around 2 years ago, without any tools, very bad quality of fondant, 40 degrees outside and no air-condition in the room... But it was for friend of mine and I couldn't refuse my help.
