My Japanese Mini Maple tree outdid itself this winter! No color left unturned. At dusk with last of sunset light.

Late summer walk in the forest!

Pine tree branches are extremely flexible, which allows them to handle a heavy snowfall without the branches snapping off.

Since the weather was so nice today, I decided to take a walk to the back of the tree nursery I currently live on. I was half way to the back and got a low battery warning on my camera! The warm weather made me a little lazy so I took my small camera. On the way back to my house I got off a couple of more shots and this is one of them. I was amazed at the quality for such a small camera - especially at noon with bright sunlight - which I usually never take photos at this time of day.

There are at least 5 or more different types of trees in this photo - the very large Walnut tree on the right is just starting to get leaves. L A R G E

Must View On Black

This is a photo which resembles the paintings created by Jörg Schemman.

In Jörg Schemmann’s landscape paintings, one can not see the horizon. His large paintings of pine forests are dominated by a light of high contrast, which creates depth. His images resemble photographs from a distance, but are in fact pure and uninhibited paintings that have little to do with reality.

No shelther from the elements, beaten by the seasons and deformed by time this lonely pinetree was still standing proud and beautiful on it`s dunetop.

Being a few decades old it must have survived numerous winters, storms, droughts and maybe even lightningstrikes and forestfires.

A fine example of the resilience (and beauty) of life, also a reminder of why I`m a naturephotographer in the first place: Enjoy nature and share this beauty with anyone who wishes to see it.

Enjoy :)

A quick trip to do a small bit of shopping and as I returned to the car park noticed these three squirrels having a fine time around this huge pine tree and a shot was the order of the day . Not easy as I had four litres of orange juice on my back and two litres of milk and a huge cauliflower in a shopping bag ( NOT plastic ! ) . With all this load swinging on my arm it was not too easy to hold and keep the camera still , so best results and just the one shot .

Glad I do not use the multi storey car park in the town but use this one on the outskirts ( or the one by the parish church ) - always more chance of finding a shot like this , plus a little exercise is always good !

Body to tree trunk hug to take a photo! I love my trees! They pose for photographs!😍

Just liked it.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)

This flag identifies where the cap is on the heating oil tank underground. It's about three feet tall, but I figure there's only about ten inches still visible.
