South Canterbury, New Zealand

One medium sized pine tree died. This fire is just the needles and cones and a handful of branches.

Just needed a little color in these dull winter days.

The pine is the dominant tree of my region present in most forested areas. The plantation has begun for many years and for economic reasons, especially for timber and resin used as raw material for diverse products. The pines are also dangerous, because they drop needle-shaped leaves covering the ground with a "carpet" of leaves (as seen in the photo), which are very flammable and one of the main reasons of fires in the region.

Ya no se ni cuanto tiempo hacía que no subía una foto. Ésta la tenía en el disco duro desde hace un par de años y he querido darle una oportunidad.

The dead pinetree is an icon and is in contrast with the warm autumn colors surrounding the Galgenven, a forest lake near my home.

This ones my favorite

This beautiful tree was in the vacant lot next to us, and was cut down when new owners cleared the lot to build a home. I miss it!

I love the way snow looks on pine trees 😁💚❄️🌲
