"The future is female"

A familiar character to nearly everyone. Certainly everyone I know can identify Micky Mouse. This is he as the 1928 Steamboat Willie character. An iconic Disney creation in a cartoon that boasted many entertainment industry firsts. Wikipedia has the full breakdown. My wife keeps this pinned to the collar of her denim jacket. The image is of an area about 60mm square. HMM to all and, as always, thanks for views, faves, and comments.

To make this macro the pin was attached to a skewer, the skewer then clamped and taped to a box and all was covered with black cloth. White mini lights were then placed around the background.

=The image was made using live view and the exposure of the lights was adjusted to match the sun on the pin. The pin was then lit with a diffused handheld torch. HMM

The image spans 2.5in on the long edge.

Kachinas are supernatural beings in the religious traditions of the Pueblo peoples, particularly the Hopi and Zuni tribes. They are represented by masked dancers, who embody the spirits during ceremonies,

Kachinas are considered sacred spirits representing animals, plants, ancestors and other concepts. They are believed to mediate between the humans and the divine realm, influencing aspects of life like crop growth and fertility.

This Kachina brooch was a gift from my husband when we visited Sedona, Arizona during one of my birthday weekends. It measures 3" tall by 2" wide.

HMM, everyone ! !

I've seen Humpback Whales on Whale Watching trips that took us about 15 miles off the coast of Cape Cod. Some whales came right up to our boat and looked us over. One brought her baby, who swam belly up under the bowsprit of the boat! This pin is a memento of those amazing encounters.

I bought this brooch because I liked the colours so much. Especially when light hits it, the blue and pink shades are beautiful. The brooch is actually too heavy for a sweater or blouse, so I have worn it very little. Still, I couldn't get rid of it. The colours are not as spectacular as they used to be, but still beautiful enough. The brooch is 6 cm wide, so this part fits within the rules for MacroMonday.

Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. It is much appreciated.

This is a pin badge that I bought from a friend, who makes these to sell as part of a larger fundraising initiative .

I've never been to Canada but a friend brought me back this badge from her trip. I owned Flat coated Retrievers for nearly 30 years and showed them too. I lost my last one in 2013 and still miss having a 'flattie' in my home. Such a delightful, fun-loving and always youthful breed.

The image measures just under 2" in width.

What you see is a Route 66 Badge. The diameter of the Badge is aprox. 22 mm = less than 1"

A pin badge is a small decorative accessory typically made of metal, plastic, or enamel that can be attached to clothing, bags, or other fabric surfaces using a pin and clasp mechanism on the back. Pin badges often feature designs, logos, slogans, or artwork and serve a variety of purposes, such as:

Personal expression (e.g., favorite bands, quotes, or characters)

Awareness and activism (e.g., charity ribbons, campaign slogans)

Identification (e.g., name badges, organizational logos)

Collectibles and souvenirs (e.g., commemorative events or travel mementos)

They are popular among collectors and can range from simple printed designs to intricate hard or soft enamel finishes with detailed artwork. The front face of the badge is where the visual design appears, while the back typically has a butterfly clutch, safety pin, or magnetic fastener.

The ‘Sarotti Moor’ is considered the oldest advertising figure in Germany. His date of birth: 27 August 1918.

The ‘Sarotti Moor’ is viewed with more sensitivity today, as its depiction goes back to clichés from the colonial era. The figure - once intended as a symbol of exoticism and luxury - shows a dark-skinned servant in orientalising garb. Many people today consider such depictions to be outdated because they convey stereotypical images. The logo has therefore been adapted over time to reflect more modern ideas of respect and diversity.

Dimension Reference: Size along longest axis is 1/2 " inches (i.e., 13mm).

My proposal for Macro Mondays (“pin badge” theme):

The underside of a 2006 "Revolver" badge placed on the first French version of the Beatles LP (mono version from 1966).

I had fun playing with the notion of "to revolve" but also with the needle placed on the groove of the record.

If i remember correctly, my classmates and I got this pin at the airshow in 1983 the exhibitor.

I actually texted my classmates if they remembered this. One of them still has it, the other one lost it. We agreed that was a fun outing.

This is on my pre-pandemic ID card lanyard. When the pandemic hit, all staff authorized to work on campus had to obtain red lanyards. I got so used to mine, I never put the original back in service after the pandemic was declared over.

In a battered Farrah's Original Harrogate Toffee tin, I have my mother's sargeant stripes, two ATS badges, and this small cap badge which was very black and tarnished and which I have never looked at closely. I cleaned it up and seeing that it is an RAOC badge realise it must have been my dad's. He never told me his regiment, just that he worked inthe Quartermaster's Stores, but ordnance - that makes sense. The badge is 2.5 cm across at the widest part and is missing one of the little flanges at the back which would have fixed it to the cap.
