8/14/2013: I'm not too much into circuses - clowns scare me and I feel really sad for the animals. But their tent setup really caught my eye so I stopped to take a photo of it. The wind was blowing and the flags were whipping straight out.

I'd like these chairs. They were in excellent condition.

 

This resto looks like it's a film set from the 1970's but this is actually a running Chinese restaurant in my home town. This is the very first time I've every eaten at it in the 30+ years that I lived here. The food = okay, the interior = awesome, location = meh. We were the only people in the restaurant but there was only one other customer in the lounge.

04.20.2015: My new bead loom came in this weekend. I got this one because it only has 2 end warp threads that I need to weave into the final project. It's so easy to warp. I like bead looming because it's faster than square stitch. But in the past, dealing with all the cut warp threads was a pain. Now I don't have to worry about it.

 

This loom is by Bead Smith. The pattern is from Piecework Magazine (Interweave.com). This is a watch chain from the 1830's. I'll be changing the pattern design a bit.

8.27.2014: I was having a bit of trouble figuring out what the machine looked like in my dream. I just remembered that it was large and had an organic shape. And that it had a lot of gears, lights and ephemera on it. Until I started to look up Steampunk art did I remember that it was shaped like a cocoon. This drawing feels right to me.

12/14/2012: Dad was sorting through a box of stuff that Mom saved - cards, travel things, small knick-knacks. So I was pulling stuff out that my sisters, brothers and the kids gave her to give back to them. I guess after three years, we do have to put some things away. I kept some cards that my parents gave to each other and some other documents - just so I can keep a bit of both of them together...

 

I still really miss her every day, but I guess that never really changes.
