A Photogram

a cameraless photograph made when 3d objects are laid on traditional photo paper then exposed to light and developed

I am taking photo this semester and the first thing we did was learn to develop prints by making a photogram!

This is my first ever print made in a darkroom!

go team!

photogram made with matches was developed half-way, washed and dried, then once more exposed through the enlarger.

This was fun:) A photogram is made by placing objects on photo sensitive paper. Once u start it's hard 2 stop...

1. this is a photogram. it was created with an enlarger in a darkroom, not a camera.

2. yes, the borders are off. yes, the picture is crooked (that one is my scanners fault). enjoy.

Photogram made by shining a torch through a glass of water

A traditional photogram is a photographic image made by placing objects directly onto the surface of photographic paper and then exposing it to light. This creates a unique image more like an x-ray than a typical photograph.

This image has been made with a digital photogram technique that allows me to create similar images in the digital darkroom.

Photogram made by shining a torch through a glass of water

photographic image made (without a camera) by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light.

My last day of Spring break has been spent making pictures - very luxurious. This is a life size photogram using 5 sheets of 16"x20" fogged Agfa Multicontrast Classic fiber that's no good for straight printing but works fine for photograms. Then I bleached a couple of panels for some variation of tone. I wish I could spend all my days doing this.

Not the best..picture of it because theres a glare and my scanner doesn't want to cooperate with me, So here's the best that i can do.

Photograms of the year 1947 Angus basil

this was my last photogram.. I think the key's outline is way too sharp and the contrast is not so great in the image... still, not a garbage photogram, me thinks. ^_^

I need some more practice, though!
