Lines No. 01, 2025, Photogram on silver gelatin, 7” x 5”
Photogram made with black and white chemistry on black and white enlarging paper. A photogram is a cameraless darkroom print made by placing objects on light-sensitive paper and exposed to light. The print is then processed with a traditional developer and fixer and dried.
By placing objects onto light sensitive paper and exposing it under an enlarger, I was able to create this photogram. The composition is asymmetrical because there is no symmetry in the way the objects are placed. In this way, the viewer's eye is led throughout the whole composition. The theme of fantasy and imagination is expressed in the composition because of the chosen objects which include a dream catcher, rose petals, and an old wood carving illustration of a woman.
