Simple photograms where you develop a photo using light and objects, i think these are particularly beautiful as you can really focus on an image while it still being ambiguous.
Media used: photographic paper, headphones, scissors, lace, hessian, letraset, netting, checked fabric and plain paper. developed using photography chemicals, developer, fixer and stop.
Photograms are pretty easy to make. You just need photographic paper, some things, light and photo chemicals.
Step 1. Lay photo paper on flat surface in a dark room.
Step 2. Lay things right on it.
Step 3. Shine some light on it for an amount of time.
Step 4. Put the photo paper through the usual chemics.
Step 5. Look at it with your very impressed friends.
I made the photograms by drawing inspiration by a series of photographs that I had taken. I used metal mesh to add texture to the counter top. I used tracing paper for the piece of broken glass and sewed them together with cotton thread. I used a sharpie pen to block out sections of the acetate.
This is an example of the other ways i like to experiment, i have use photograms and edited them by sewing into, scratching into them etc.
