Photogram or lumen print. Exposed for 35 minutes to sunlight. Original is a pale blue color. Scanned the image. The scanned image was bluish and greenish. I chose to convert the piece to black and white in photoshop. I posted another bottle print back a couple of days.
Coastal retreat. Tis so often true that the best days begin and end on the beach and with the company of family and loved ones those days can last a lifetime sewn deep into your heart........During these tough times with restrictions in place we each still have the power to dream and hopefully in time to be able to pursue our dreams. All it takes is a believe that they can come true and the strength and conviction to make them..A dream can make life worth living and our dreams are what can get us through even the worst of days.....
Basics
Our daughter is homeschooling three of her four children, and sometimes I get to join in. This time in our handicraft class, we explored the basics of photography in my darkroom.
For a photogram, we exposed needle, thread and button in a square crystal bowl.

Water colour hot pressed 300gsm.
Exposure 2 days...bright but overcast with light cloud.

Burghead is a long, sandy beach. At low tide there is vast, wide expanse of sand, but this all but disappears when the tide comes in. It is a popular place for boating as well as for walking along the beach, taking in the scenery.
This part of the Moray coastline is one of the best places in the country for spotting dolphins and even, if you’re very lucky, whales. Behind the beach there are sand dunes as well as a nature reserve. Roseisle Forest lies south of Burghead Beach Caravan Park. It offers a picnic and play area and trails through the scented pinewoods.
tiny little solarised photogram/chemigram. A tiny piece of heather masquerading as a tree - part of my imaginary world that I used for a college module recently. Incredibly old paper - possibly from the 40's.
Thought I'd have time to get more done after NY but as we're level 3 all the annoying bits (work) are back to normal but on the upside we do get to eat out. Got my first jag too.
Tried photogram for the first time using some badly fogged (exposed) 8x10 photograph paper.
No camera just a 125 watt bulb in the enlarger for 12 secs.
A photogram made by placing my iPod directly on top of photographic paper, exposing it to light, and then developing it like a photograph.

Created in darkroom by placing flower on paper (no negative), then shining light on the paper so that it goes through the flower.

Lumen print on Kodak Ektacolor expired.
Exposure 1hr 30min.
Paper is green straight out the bag. Faded green after fixing.

Das Bild entstand aus einer Cyanotypie der Ahornnasen mit Hilfe von elektronischer Pseudosolarisation. Hierbei wird beim Scannen der Farbraum nicht linear gescannt, sondern mit einer Transformation in farbige Vögel verzaubert. Es ist wie ein Schatten in Platons Höhle, der durch ein Prisma gesehen wird.
The image was created from a cyanotype of the maple leaves using electronic pseudo-solarisation. In this process, the colour space is not scanned linearly, but is transformed into enchanting coloured birds. It is like a shadow in Plato’s cave, viewed through a prism.

I developed the lumen photograms in dilute developer, or fixed direc, or first bleached before processing, then developing in dilute paper developer and then fixing. They now should be real to light. When first bleaching it goes more to gray black, when first developing it keeps the brown color from the exposure.

This is another 'double refraction' . The refraction pattern of light formed through one of my glass objects is passed through one of my coloured plastic shapes. The result,as you can see, is quite complicated. There is still the basic shape of the glass refraction pattern but this is now broken down again by the second refraction.
For new viewers: these are analog images of the refraction patterns of a beam of light passing through various transparent objects. The image is captured directly on to 35mm film, no camera lens is used ( this is a photogram using film instead of photographic paper). No Photoshop is used only Picasa2 for alignment and cropping. The slide film was lab processed and scanned for uploading.
When viewed large the fine bands of diffraction patterns and also some refraction 'rainbows' can be seen.

Exposure very short about 1 minute by tracing the object
The red color is because I wetted the paper and washed with handsoap exposed wet.
This time i soaked the leaf in vinager. The alkaline soap should inprove darkening, the vinager reduce.
these are of course not fixed so have to stay in the dark. I have not found a good way to fix and keep the intense colors.

i`ve placed toys, nature and transparent stuff and composed it on photocraphic paper. then exposing it with or to light and invert it in photoshop. sry my english sucks! ;p

Je viens de passer une belle semaine à profiter des derniers rayons de soleil en ce début d'automne en faisant, pour la première fois, des photogrammes avec les procédés Cyanotype, Anthotype et Lumen.
