After finally deciding that I did want to do a Photography degree I had to make the decision to retake some of my A-levels. This was to improve my grade to ensure a better opportunity to get into university. Although I am not technically a student and I do not officially attend college I have coursework to do and an exam to sit next month. Today I found out that my coursework deadline is a lot shorter than I previously was aware of. Having found this out I have spent the day trying to get as much work as I can possibly get done. During this it meant I had to teach myself a new assignment and experiment with this. This was 'Digital Photograms'. The above image is the final piece from today's experiments. For my first attempt I am quite happy with it. Obviously there is MAJOR room for improvement and still a lot to learn with this.
I chose to use lemons for my image as I have been wanting to use them as a stimulus for while. Whilst chopping lemons at work to serve in customers drinks at work I have imagined various ways of capturing lemons as I find them delicate and quite beautiful. Therefore, I took this as a great opportunity for them to appear within my work.
Also very grateful that this photograph appeared in Explore. (8.05.2015)
a collection of photograms made on fuji instax wide-format film, idea from jefftolentino...(I'm a luddite - how do I attach a link to his account?)
Inverted photogram
View this in lightbox, it's worth it.
You'll be seeing a lot more college work from now on.
I developed the lumen photograms in dilute developer, or fixed direc, or first bleached before processing, then developing in dilute paper developer and then fixing. They now should be real to light. When first bleaching it goes more to gray black, when first developing it keeps the brown color from the exposure.
A photogram that I created, using the silhouette of various objects to create a surreal, fantasy scene.
I found this in one of my usual haunts the other day.
It is extraordinary; full of archaic English text, some fascinating pictures, and advertisements that made me smile and wonder.
I'm looking forward to peppering my stream with a few shots from inside the book, alongside photograms of my own.

I'm going to be offering these as greeting cards in my etsy shop in the near future.
I finally got back there yesterday and reactivated a number of inactive items and listed several new ones.
