just because i'm not good at math or academic stuff or even bother doing a sport, doesn't mean i can just be excluded from a family...psh whatever!

this is a photogram i made last friday...i didn't get to develop it properly because the chemicals in the developer tray were hardly there anymore.

it consists of a few bracelets, a rocking horse necklace and a straw

today:

- i failed math. 77% on my exam. i think my _______ are thinking of disowning me now. whatever.

- photography 'exam'...i thought that class was supposed to be about creating stuff...well whatever.

if i wanted to do pages worth of essays, i could've just picked an english elective

- apparently my textiles class is having an excursion at the end of the year...haha more like an excursion at school...just looking at yr12's major projects...AT SCHOOL...WHAT.THE.FACE.

original cyanotype photogram of a bike gear done on New Year's Eve 2015, available at www.etsy.com/listing/262494160/original-unique-cyanotype-...

I made this photogram on August 29, 2011 for my Photography I class. This was a 9-second exposure (3 intervals of 3 seconds each) done on 8x10" Adorama variable grade Resin Coated glossy B&W photo paper.

Among the objects in this composition: dried grasses, a dandelion and some loose seeds, cicada shells, and a devil's claw. The devil's claw is the faint gray object on the top left corner; it was added between the first and second exposures.

a digital photogram - digital image exposed onto photo paper to create a negative, which is then exposed onto photo paper to create a black and white positive print

These are some photograms I made while working on a photography communications project. None of these will probably make it to my final project, but I do think they're pretty cool lookin'.

I won't spoil it for you by telling you the objects I used in each, but I'm sure you can figure it out for most of them. ;o)

Photogram of a magazine page.

3 February 2011. Photogram onto (very old) Kodak Solio printing out paper using UV lamp. 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Washed then fixed normally and washed again.

I made this photogram on August 31, 2011 for my Photography I class. This was a 12-second exposure (4 intervals of 3 seconds each) done on 8x10" Adorama variable grade resin coated glossy B&W photo paper.

This piece was composed with a small artist's mannequin, six cicada wings, and a piece of rutilated quartz.

I really enjoyed doing this, even though the school dark room is tiny! I think I will probably experiment a bit more with photograms and try and make the shapes a bit more defined next time!

Done in the dark room using a lightbulb :)

its exactly what you see.

for this print i opened my original image in paint and fliped (inverted) the colours

A photogram is a photographic image made (without a camera) by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result is a silhouetted image varying in darkness based on the transparency of the objects used, with areas of the paper that have not received any light appearing light and those that have appearing dark, according to the laws of photosensitivity. The image obtained is hence a negative and the effect is often quite similar to an X-Ray. This method of imaging is perhaps most prominently attributed to Man Ray and his exploration of rayographs. Others who have experimented with the technique include László Moholy-Nagy, Christian Schad (who called them "Schadographs"), Imogen Cunningham and even Pablo Picasso.
