This boat had slipped its moorings (or been cast off, according to some reports I'd read), and spent several days on its side trapped against Osney Bridge.

Bees in a flower garden we stopped at on our final day in Munnar. I could happily have put yet another picture of tea plantations here, though :-P

Another HDR but a different barn at least. :)

I met up for the day with Gene, who's visiting from Australia. We had a lovely catch-up while wandering first around the huge Wholefoods store on Kensington High Street, then heading for the Natural History Museum, which was visually stunning even before we looked at any of the actual exhibits.

This wafer had been engineered to have different reflective properties in different regions, though it's impossible to capture it all in just one photo! (www.wisdom.weizmann.ac.il/~levina/papers/BRDFfab/). There was a day of talks from cool people who were in Oxford for a conference-related meeting, and this piece was passed around after Anat Levin's really interesting talk about engineering BRDFs.
