Go out for coffee / breakfast to say goodbye to Rob's sister. She begins the move to Australia today - with stops in Rotorua and Auckland on the way. Bye Jiggy - we will miss you!

55/365 pretty day so i went outside for break and played scrabble.. err words with friends on the iphone
A bunch of us from ousfg went to a ceilidh in aid of SCI, which is a fantastically cost-effective charity that I've been supporting for a few years because of Giving What We Can (www3.imperial.ac.uk/schisto, www.givingwhatwecan.org/).
My 366 has lost momentum a bit in the last couple of days, I've seriously lost my enthusiasm. I think this photo sort of sums up why! The blimin rain!! Is it ever going to stop!!! Took this on my very dismal dog walk this morning, it was tipping it down so hard I didn't want to get my camera out of it's bag!
Dommy has been restricted due to the casts he has for his foot issues, but we've countered the issues of getting dirt etc down the casts by getting some older boy socks and covering them all up - Today was his first real "roam" outside since the casts went on last Thursday... He had a ball - and even tried to escape up those steps in the left hand side of the pic!!!
I was out for a walk with only my new phone as camera aparatus, but this scene kind of caught my eye :-)
Day 8
As you know, I love Irn Bru. Also I collect lighters, have at lease 300ish on the last count. And I love travelling. So you have a picture containing 2 facts for the price of 1 here. Lucky lucky people!
Hope you are taking notes, there will be a short quiz at the end of the year :-)
we arrived as the sun was rising into germany and finally made it into the city by 8am. we waited at the train station for Mahala to come in on her train from copenhagen. it was not only sweet to see Max's friendly face, but just as sweet to see Mahala come all the way from colorado. we returned to Max and Sabrina's apartment to catch up and get ready for the day. we went to eat a real breakfast before heading out to see the sights. first and foremost, i finally got my bangs trimmed and now i can see! we made our short walk to the marienplatz and did some brief shoe shopping. i couldn't find what i wanted so i'm still on a quest to find those shoes, and unfortunately i can't even picture what they look like. again, we climbed to the clock tower. this time i could see the alps in the south. the climb to the top wasn't as bad as before either, which is a good sign that my legs are semi in-shape from so much walking back in firenze. we were all wiped out by this point so we returned to rest a bit and get ready for a sushi dinner! i made sure to eat the kinds of food that are hard to find in italy.
Check out the RiffRaff statue in Hamilton. The plaque reads:
"It’s astounding! Where we stand is the birthplace of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. On this site stood The Embassy Theatre, the home of Hamilton's ‘Late Night Double Feature Picture Show’ and the barber shop where Richard O'Brien cut hair and daydreamed from 1959 to 1964."
There's even a live webcam to check out people doing the time warp: www.riffraffstatue.org/page/riffraff_178.php
