Spend part of the afternoon at Mum's. Rob is roped in almost immediately to help Geoff with a tree problem so I shelter from the heat inside with Mum and look at travel brochures, blogs and the dogs running around like crazy.
Sunday, 13 February 2011.
This weekend I:
* Sat in the sun after work with friends laughing and laughing and laughing
* Received a beautiful and thoughtful gift from Rob wrapped and hidden in the dog's bed!
* Had my first major feast on Easter Eggs with some strawberry filled beauties
* Attended a "Grease" themed hens night
* Roller skated!
* Made buttermilk waffles with blueberries and bananas (and then ate them out on the deck)
* Went for an excellent run (so much progress since my first attempt last week!)
* Made a Valentines Day card for my love
* Went for a lovely visit to my Mum's house (there were dogs, Bassett's liquorice allsorts and a disappointing peach)
* Ate very nice stuffed potatoes that Rob lovingly made for me and watched a silly Sunday night movie
Stefan was helping me out by being my VR participant for the day. Here he is with our teribly fetching red-green glasses (used for the stereopsis test, not just to make people look cool).
Take the Porsche for a blat out of town and go for brunch at a country cafe. (Rob is fast getting sick of being my model...).

Day 78!
Celebrated mothers day by bungee jumping off here today, what better way to do it than have your mother watch you fall towards the ground?
I'm drunk, I have had a drink...I knew this was happening tonight so I took the quickest photo ever this morning before work...
Here we have.....My light! It makes things seeable during darkness, which I like about it. :-)
This is Bubo my lucky owl. I've had him for many many years. He was my lucky charm for exams in my school days, and lost all his copper plating while living in my school blazer pocket. I had a dream about him (several of him, really) last night, so he seems a good photo subject for today.
Meeting Asta for the first time.
Sunday, 24 July 2011.
This weekend I:
* Finally have a Friday night at home and get to watch New Zealand's Next Top Model
* Have my first coaching session with PK
* Brave Pak n' Save
* Absolutely freeze at the soccer - even with all of Rob's clothes on
* Warm up with a bath and watch GHI
* Cuddle with Asta
* Check out Coco's weight loss
* Watch a terrible movie - "Acceptance"
* Stay up late and watch the final of Survivor
* Have an ice cream sandwich with Mum
* Have to carry Gracie like a baby because she is so scared of Maewa and Molly
* Listen to Stonefield
* Find out that my uncle is getting married
It was a day of great incompetency. Arica pulled through Einstein's to get a bagel. On her way out, as she sat in the exit lane, a woman in a giant SUV tried to pull into the parking lot. Except that the woman couldn't drive her giant SUV, and ended up in a situation where she could either back up in the road and try again or wait for Arica to move. Except that Arica couldn't move, because traffic continued to flow around the giant SUV. The woman honked, shouted, and flapped her arms. I'd be mad too, if I owned a car that routinely screwed me.
Then I got a flat diet coke at lunch, which I traded for a water. Ten minutes later (or so), I asked whether the machine had been fixed. Reply: "I can bring you another coke, but sometimes they're flat. We go through a lot of CO2 here."
And then I took a few pictures this morning, none of which worked out. So I went into the living room a few minutes ago and took this picture. As a general rule, it's going to be safe to assume that pictures from inside my house are last minute substitutes.

25.5.07 Annette made dinner for Bronya and I. Was funny to visit my old flat - certainly haven't missed that wallpaper!
"Domenik"
This is my baby boy, Domenik. He is 1 year old and is the apple of my eye (along with his two brothers and sister ;)) I had to do a "sitting" with him today to get some shots for a facebook baby comp he has got through to the final round on - I had 1 hour to dress and shoot him... talk about last minute!!! Nappy brain had set in hehehe
These are two wild elephants enjoying the banks of the lake at Kabini, in the middle of a huge nature reserve.
Today I played as a sub for the white team in this ball hockey league organized by Howard Billerman (aka former drummer of Arcade Fire). I don't know how much of a league it is and how much it's just the same 2 teams playing two games against each other every Saturday.
I am incredibly out of shape and was very ashamed of how short my shifts lasted... I don't like playing team sports and feeling like I'm not contributing, but the reality is that some of these guys are really good and I havent done anything close to physical activity for years...
Which makes it all the more surprising that I scored a goal in the second game! I was playing right wing and I just one-timed a shot into top left corner.. maybe my muscle memory remembers something after all.
There's a spot for me to play every week with the white team if I want it, but I don't know if I do or not yet. It's fun b/c the guys are all really nice and my 2 bosses Hil and Dan both play but I think generally I prefer womens leagues to coed playing. Tomorrow I might show up for a game of anarchist soccer in parc Laurier.. we'll see how that goes!
(yes apparently they take a team photo of both teams at the end of every single game haha)
Almost set te apt ablaze yesterday by forgetting my waffle. Words cannot express how dumb I feel and thankful that nothing horrible happened.
We have to leave traces for future generations so they know the kinds of people we were. Or we need to invite some Camel smokers over.
