Last week I got a phonecall. "Would I like to see Long-Eared Owl babies?".....
Did they really think I would say No? :-)
Although they hid in the dense and huge red beech the véry last light of the day set them off perfectly.

This building, and the welcoming volunteer, set up this scene that caught my eye while we were putting on the miles walking around Lisbon, Portugal.
I modified the perspective-lines of the building to straighten things as best I could; the gent was on the second floor.
Capture natural lighting from the window to seize the moment, using a manual lens 24mm at 2.8 mounted on Sony E!
"I can't imagine being stuck down a well all alone like that. How long could you survive ?"
"Seven days."

Mount Meru is an active stratovolcano located 70 kilometres west of Mount Kilimanjaro in the nation of Tanzania. At a height of 4,565 metres, it is visible from Mt Kilimanjaro on a clear day, and is the ninth or tenth highest mountain in Africa, dependent on definition. Much of its bulk was lost about 8,000 years ago due to an eastward volcanic blast, similar to the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in the U.S. state of Washington. Mount Meru most recently had a minor eruption in 1910. The several small cones and craters seen in the vicinity probably reflect numerous episodes of volcanic activity.
Mount Meru is the topographic centerpiece of Arusha National Park. Its fertile slopes rise above the surrounding savanna and support a forest that hosts diverse wildlife, including nearly 400 species of birds, and also monkeys and leopards.
The Road To Hell
Chris Rea
We'll I'm standing by a river but the water doesn't flow
It boils with every poison you can think of.
Then I'm underneath the streetlights
But the light of joy I know
Scared beyond belief way down in the shadows.
And the perverted fear of violence chokes a smile on every face
And common sense is ringing out the bells.
This ain't no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to hell.
And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper flying away from you.
Look out world
Take a good look what comes down here
You must learn these lesson fast and learn it well.
This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway
Oh no, this is the road
This is the road
This is the road to hell
3:45am rise out of the bed this morning, for a two hour trip up to Gorokan.
The last time I shot this jetty, was wayyy back in 2012, and I was just starting out on my Landscape Photography journey at the time.
Since then, I've been meaning to get back up here, and at last, the chance raised its head today. The cloud prediction was good, and little chance of rain, so off we went.
I'm happy with this, as its quite difficult shooting directly into the sun or rising sun in general. The detail in the jetty came out quite well.
The downside is, my camera got a right drenching over a week ago when I shot the massive swell at Potter point. Between it getting wet, and belted with salt from the sea spray, its not been happy since.
This morning, I just got through the shoot....
Insurance phonecall to be made methinks...
Anyhow, hope you like "The Road To Hell"

Today’s contribution to my 365 was inspired (or uninspired ?) by the fact that I’ve spent a lot of time this morning taking phonecalls from hospital depts . rescheduling and relocating future appointments due to the resurgence of Covid in Wales. Read more here :-

Remember to say to love ones... I love you no matter near or far. We don't say it enough. HMM!!
Take a listen to the lyrics!

Lucky me! A week of furlough. No emails, Blackberry, MOC, phonecalls. Guess what I'll be doing.
He is on 8th floor working on this building. During that time he got a phonecall or sms. I just looked away through the window and caught him into my frame.
You're A-1
I talked to an old friend, hopefully made new again... in a different way though. I know that doesn't make much sense. But I did have a big smile on my face when the chat was over. It's just good to have that feeling like you connected to someone. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it... but that's nothing new with me. I think too much... which brings me to this...
Adults put up so many walls and defenses to protect ourselves from other people. We make it almost impossible to befriend someone the older we get. Do you recall making friends with the kid on the playground within minutes? It's just so complicated nowadays... making sure you say the right thing, the right way; not be to forward... you get my point. So when you do make a new friend... it's a good day!
in a city that never pauses, this moment in barcelona feels like a circuit break from the everyday current. surrounded by charger cables, plastic cases, and prepaid promises, a man sits like time doesn’t apply. his gaze is lost in the screen, while outside the glass the city keeps moving. but inside, it’s another rhythm—slower, quieter. the light isn’t from the sun but from backlit displays. the scene is cramped and cluttered, yet it radiates calm. in the capital of speed, there’s still space to drift.
Intimacy becomes extimacy, it’s an ugly world. The only thing that stayed untouched is a cherrytree, author unknown. I told you about it and i don’t want to annoy. It’s the only thing that can’t be counterfeit. Tender gestures became almost heroic, I’m dreaming of their old version from times long forgotten, a person to have the nerves to ask me on a yellow sheet of paper written on a vintage Remington, if it rains. As lover’s clothes after their first night making love, words lay scattered on the floor. Borrow yourself a body and come to tidy up. I know miracles cannot be provoked but i have the right to lie to myself to the same extent others lie to me.
Maybe some other time.
It’s raining. True, it’s raining. 2 sentences as 2 book covers hiding a story.
