At Hamamatsuchō station, Tokyo (if you are wondering, it is that name that is written as はままつちょう on the middle pillar).
No, the platform isn't straight in this shot - but you can't get everything, especially not when you take a photo on the go, just because you like the position of the two sitting men with their phones (that there are three other men in the photo who also happened to be busy with their phones was just a thematically happy coincidence).
this young man, standing in front of this colorful murals and doing some office work, was really an eye catcher.
picture was taken in san franciscos mission district and of cause with my fujifilm x-t1 and the xf18-55mm standard lens.

Humanity has evolved through the years. With the help of science and technology we have made our lives better and easier. And we all try to make our personal illusions true. Yet sometimes we struggle. We struggle when we live packed together in our small concrete boxes. We struggle as we have to face a new type of difficulties. Whether this is being disconnected from each other or the routine that kills our creativity and the real, face to face, communication. And some people have to fight even for things that most of us consider as given. These people deserve our respect and we should be looking up to them. We should be proud of finding them among thousands of faces we see every day when we commute to work, when we go out for a walk, when our eyes randomly meet a stranger's eyes, or when we "meet" people virtually. These people have strong eyes and clean souls. each and every one of us carries his own "load" and we do it proudly. But some among us have to do it without relying on help from anybody. And that's admirable. Modern day life is different, modern day life can be hard. Let's look at the person next to us and smile at him as behind his eyes there may be a story full of personal sacrifices and struggles.

Some of my favourite photographs are like this: standing underneath a bridge that covers the sky and crosses the space ahead. Here, the DLR clanked loudly over our heads as I stared at the still water.
Michael took a phonecall so I had time to consider the space around me. I'm not sure I felt safe, standing there in the big city, even with no one else around. The possibility of threat was enough, it seemed.
palma, 2026. caught between light and reflection, she exists in her own world. the installation glows around her, but the phone call keeps her somewhere else entirely.
