Paul was the love of our lives for 10 years. He crossed the "rainbow bridge" in late September of 2024. Not a single day passes that I don't think of him.

This photo was not staged. It was not unusual for him to take a toy and lie down to snooze with it by his side.

My wife and I both agree that the love we feel (I won't say felt because we still feel it) for Paul is equal to if not greater than what we feel for our loved ones. Paul was, after all, family. It truly was an unconditional love. Maybe only dog lovers will understand.

Paul took many road trips with us, including to the San Juan mountains of CO, the woods of TN, the big city Dallas and several day trips to discover Kansas.

Part Schnauzer and Jack Russell he was a shelter dog we "rescued." He was, for me, a "spirit" dog. Still today just looking at his pictures makes me tear-up.

Can you see him there, in the middle? Its a dog... :¬)

This is a very poor community (or Favela, in Portuguese) called Santa Marta, on the mount Dona Marta. For many years it was devastated by the violence caused by the organized crime, specially because of the drug traffic. I could never imagine myself entering there, but, since November 2008, its permanently occupied by the police and, since this date, the inhabitants are free of the violence. Them, I could walk all the place without problem (well, almost...), but, in general, was everything very well, even I'm being with a bit of fear...

In LARGE you will certainly find him.
